Is a Disney World trip in your future? Be a guest in the know with these 10 Do’s and Don’ts on a Disney World vacation. Item #3 is one that gets asked frequently.
10 Do’s & Don’ts:
1. Do: Use A Disney Travel Agent.
Disney Travel Agents are 100% free for you to use. Guests will receive advice, perks and more. Plus, a free quote with no obligation. Destinations in Florida is a great resource from us to you!
2. Don’t: Skip on Memory Maker.
Memory Maker is an extra guests can add to their Disney Vacation. This entitles guests to all the pictures from their Disney vacation taken by Disney Photopass Photographers. Advance purchase costs $169. Guests ask all the time, is Memory Maker worth it? Well, here are 7 Reasons Why “Memory Maker Is Worth It” At Walt Disney World.
3. Do: Download the My Disney Experience App.
The My Disney Experience App is a free app with many useful options for your Disney vacation. Keep track of your dining reservations, make Fastpass+ reservations, find Characters in the park, locations of restrooms and more. Read the Guide to My Disney Experience App to find out everything it does.
4. Don’t: Stay At the Parks from open to close.
While some can, most will end the day tired and grumpy. For this reason, a mid-day break is highly suggested during your Disney Vacation. Take a couple hours to rest at the resort or cool down in the pool.
5. Do: Share Food.
Sharing food at Disney World will save money and reduce food waste since some entrees and snacks are huge! Consider Meals you can split at Disney World. Plus, many Disney Snacks are large enough to share as well.
6. Don’t: Buy new shoes for a Disney Vacation.
Instead, pack a pair of comfortable walking shoes that have already been broken in. This is because new shoes = blisters and Disney World is a lot of walking (average 10 miles a day!). Consider these 7 Shoe Brand Recommendations For Walt Disney World.
7. Do: Make Advanced Fastpass+ Reservations.
Guests staying on Disney property can book 3 Fastpass+ per day of their vacation at 60 days prior to their arrival date. Non-resort guests may do so at 30 days out. Utilize these guaranteed 3 attractions per day. Read Best Way to use Fastpass+ for tips on attractions by park.
8. Don’t: Make Late Fastpass+ Reservations.
I suggest booking your Fastpass+ for 9:30am, 10:30am and 11:30am, this give you early morning time to get a couple attractions done before your Fastpass+ begin. Once these are used up guests may request more Fastpass+ reservations, one at a time, as many as you want. For this reason, booking a late Fastpass+ ties up your ability to make more reservations.
9. Do: Plan.
Going into a Disney World vacation blind will cost you park time. While planning down to the minute is not recommended, an outline of your day with must-do attractions will prioritize your time. 10. Don’t: Use A Dining Credit on Breakfast.
For guests going with a Dining Plan, Using your credits for a breakfast is usually a bad value. Opt for lunch and dinner options, instead paying out of pocket for a light breakfast or eating in your resort room.
