Disney World and lines are synonymous. However, there are many ways to avoid lines at Disney World, if you know how. Learn these 10 secrets to avoiding Lines at Disney World today.
1. Avoid Lines By Arriving Early
Depending crowd level and time of arrival, arrive early and knock out some attractions off the bat. To make rope guests will want to allow 1 hour travel time (for Disney transportation). This includes time to get to bus stop, wait for bus, walk to park entrance etc. Once you arrive at the park, go left, as crowds tend to steer right. Another great tip is to head to the back of the parks in the morning, and avoid getting caught up in the first few attractions to start.
2. Avoid 3 Lines A Day with Fastpass+
Fastpass+ allows Disney Resort guests to book a guaranteed window time slot (1 hour from time) for 3 attractions a day (in the same park) 60 days in advance. Non Disney Resort guests may book at 30 days out. Utilize the ability to pre-book 3 attractions per park day, and avoid 3 lines a day during your vacation.
3. Avoid Lines At Hollywood Studios
With the Star Wars Guided Tour, guests can avoid certain lines at Hollywood Studios during this VIP tour for Star War fans. Guests will have the chance to ride Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, Meet & Greet with Chewbacca & Kylo Ren and more. Guests must be at least 4 years old to participate and there is a cost associated ($92.95 per person).
4. Avoid Lines At Animal Kingdom
Guests of the Ultimate Nights of Adventure VIP Tour at Animal Kingdom can avoid many lines for popular attractions. Cost is $249.00 each, guests must be a minimum of 44″ to participate.
Attractions include:
- Avatar Flight of Passage (44” height requirement)
- Dinosaur (40” height requirement)
- Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain (44” height requirement)
- Kilimanjaro Safaris
- Na’vi River Journey
- The nighttime spectacular Rivers of Light
5. Avoid Lines For Frozen Ever After
The Frozen Ever After Dessert Party is a whole new way to experience IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth. Plus, it includes a guaranteed opportunity to ride Frozen Ever After, without a Fastpass+ or line. After enjoying IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth, guests of the Dessert Party will enjoy an exclusive ride on the popular attraction in Epcot’s Norway.
6. Avoid Lines During Extra Magic Hours
Guests staying at a Disney Resort get the privilege of Extra Magic Hours. Each day, at least one Disney park either opens 1 hour early or stays open 2 hours later for Disney Resort guests. The best time to go to avoid lines, is make it to end of the evening Extra Magic Hours as many will clear out during the first hour.
7. Avoid Lines When Ordering Food
Mobile Ordering allows guests to order and pre-pay for their food at select participating restaurants and skip the line at the restaurant! Mobile Ordering is available across all 4 parks, and even Disney Springs. Guests can access Mobile Ordering through My Disney Experience App.
8. Avoid Lines At The Bus Stop
Discover estimates for when your bus will arrive (at your Disney Resort) and when the bus will reach your destination. Bus times will be listed for Disney World’s 4 theme parks, 2 water parks and Disney Springs, with real time updates. To find this feature, go to your active Disney Resort reservation on the My Disney Experience App and tap “See Bus Times”. The wonder is over!
9. Avoid Lines By Visiting At The Right Time
Check crowd calendars and events that may effect crowds such as Marathon weekends. Also, summer months are historically the busy time of year, with 4th of July week being the busiest. Just by visiting in months such as September or January, you can encounter shorter lines.
10. Avoid Lines With A Plan
A little planning can truly go a long way. Having a plan, with your Fastpass+ and dining in the same location will save on time. Knowing what you want to accomplish ahead of time in each park will save time from deciding what to do on the spot. Plan your Fastpass+ for your must do’s, with time suggestions of 10am, 11am and noon.
