Magic Kingdom during extra magic hours
Taking pictures at Disney World is a great way to remember your vacation afterwards. The days of needing a fancy camera (unless you want one) are gone as we now have the ability to capture quality pictures with smart phones. Below is a list of 10 tips to capture the perfect moment.
1. Follow what catches your eye
If you pass by and notice something, grab a picture, you noticed it for a reason. For example, the iconic Castle shot is a must grab and above I found a neat fountain to include in the picture as well. Look for other out of the ordinary perspectives and placements for unique photos.
2. Steady Hands
Having a steady hand means the picture will not come out blurry, instead the end product is a nice sharp picture. This means taking a pause for a moment, which can be a challenge at Disney.
3. Check the settings
Double check settings and understand the features. Also, see if there are any settings that can save you time to not miss the perfect shot. For example, I set my phone to take a picture when I tap anywhere on the screen (instead of searching for one button to click).
4. Notice the small things
Besides the park icons there are so many opportunities to capture a great picture. Walt Disney World is full of small details on each and every building, ride and attraction.
5. Try a letter scavenger hunt
This is a simple, frugal game and souvenir. Find objects (think statue pieces, posts, trees etc), that resemble each letter in the alphabet or word of your choice!
6. Character Meet & Greets
Most who have been to Disney World have at least a picture or two posing with a Character. If you are with others meeting characters, instead of just the pose, capture the interaction with the character. This could be a hug, handshake or even some fun such as dancing. These make precious photo keepsakes.
7. Switch over to video too
While this isn’t a photo tip (and photos are amazing), videos are so fun to watch after your vacation. Be sure to capture some short clips of video to relive the magic as well.
8. Don’t exclude yourself
It’s tempting as the one taking the photos to not be in any. Make sure to get in at least a few photos of yourself as well. Even if it is just a selfie (it’s a thing now).
9. Prepare your battery
Battery life needs to be charged or changed to ensure you will be able to capture photos through out your vacation. Stay ahead and be prepared on this one.
10. Don’t worry about getting the perfect shot
Don’t worry if it is not the perfect shot, try and then move on. Forcing the perfect shot usually doesn’t work out, there will be other opportunities for an amazing photo from Disney World.
