1. Know Your Options
Disney World offers Resort guests complimentary transportation by bus, boat and monorail. Know which one your Resort offers. Learn more about each below.
2. Magical Express
A big perk for Disney Resort guests flying into Orlando International Airport is the use of the Magical Express. This service allows guests a complimentary ride from Orlando International Airport to their Disney Resort, and back to the airport from your Resort once vacation is over.
Once you are on the bus, expect approximately a 45 minute ride from airport to Disney Resort with stops at nearby Resorts.
3. Bus Transportation
The most basic and widely used form of transportation at Disney World is the bus system. Al though at times they get a bad rep, the busses are a reliable mode to get you to the parks, Disney Springs and more. Busses run continuously, approximately every 20 minutes and are air-conditioned. Now, the My Disney Experience shows estimated arrival times, simply tap “See Bus Times” (with active reservation).
4. Boat Transportation
Except for Animal Kingdom, the other 3 Main Parks and Disney Springs have boat arrival access for guests. Boat Transportation is offered from select Disney resorts. Boat Transportation is not the fastest way to get to where you are going. However, it makes for a relaxing and scenic option.
5. Monorail
If readily available to you, the monorail is the quickest way to get to offered destinations. Plus, it makes for a fun ride. The monorail was the dream of Walt Disney himself.
Monorail Stops:
- Magic Kingdom
- Disney’s Contemporary Resort
- Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
- Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
- Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows
- Transportation and Ticket Center
6. 1 Hour
No matter where you are traveling on Disney World Property, allow a one hour travel window before the time you want to arrive. This ensures an on-time arrival. Plus, arriving early means more time to take pictures or explore.
7. Get Somewhere Fast
If you want a no-stress way to get to your dining reservation fast, the Minnie-Van is offered for an additional cost. Guests may order a Minnie Van from the Lyft App. This service allows up to 6 guests to ride anywhere on Walt Disney World property for a flat rate fee of $25.
8. Walk
Or, get somewhere with your own 2 feet. Select resorts offer well-lit walking paths.
Walking Paths:
- Contemporary Resort to Magic Kingdom
- Disney’s BoardWalk area to Epcot & Hollywood Studios
9. Bus Signs
Look for the Bus Information sign when leaving a Disney Theme Park to learn your bus number. This will save you from unnecessary walking, as some of them can be a journey.
10. Transportation Times
Disney World’s Complimentary transportation begins early and runs late from your Resort. Starting 45 minutes before Disney theme park opening and running up to 1 hour after Disney theme park closing. Plus, at Disney Springs buses run until 2:00am.
