Are you planning a visit to Disneyland Resort soon? Disneyland Resort gets the title of the original Disney park location. Be sure to have this list handy on your next visit for freebies to look for and utilize.
1. Free Drawing Lesson
At Animation Academy, guests can learn how to draw your very own Disney character with step-by-step instruction. Classes occur every 30 minutes and choices will vary from favorite Disney characters. This experience is found in Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure park. Plus, your own hand-drawn character art is yours to keep!
2. Free Mardi Gras Beads
In New Orleans Square at Disneyland Park, if you see the Musicians, stop to listen. The musicians have been known to hand out Mardi Gras beads. Or, toss them out in true New Orleans style especially to children dancing.
3. Free Character Autographs
Included with your park admission, is unlimited character meet & greets. Grab photos and as many autographs as you can collect! Character autographs make great souvenirs.
4. Free Band-Aids
Small scrapes and cuts can happen, even at the Happiest Place on Earth. If you forget a small first-aid item, such as a Band-Aid, simply visit a First Aid found at either park. At Disneyland Park, First Aid is located at the end of Main St USA, in Disney California Adventure park visit First Aid on Buena Vista Street.
5. Free Jungle Cruise Map
Ride the Jungle Cruise in Disneyland Park and you will have many laughs. A Cast Member will be your driver and guided tour, equipped with witty jokes. At the end of your cruise ask a Cast Member for a map of the attraction. You may be asked to tell a joke for the map! It is a fun keepsake.
6. Free Driver’s License
Find Autopia in Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park. Here guests can unleash their inner racecar driver and get a free Driver’s License to keep.
7. Free Special Occasion Buttons
Is this your 1st visit? Celebrating a Birthday or something else? Be sure to pick up your complimentary Special Occasion Button! Guests can find these at Chamber of Commerce in Disney California Adventure park and at City Hall in Disneyland park. Plus, pick up at various Disneyland Resort Hotels and shops.
8. Free Rider Switch Program
This program is genius for groups traveling with different aged children. If your child is too scared to ride or doesn’t meet the height requirements, one adult can wait with the non-rider. Then, swap with another adult to ride without waiting in line all over again! This is available at select attractions in either park.
9. Free Fastpass
Obtain Free Fastpass at kiosks throughout the parks at Disneyland Resort. Save time waiting in line with the free Fastpass system.
10. Free Pin Trading
Consider purchasing Disney pins prior to your trip, such as a starter set or check clearance on ShopDisney. Then participate in pin trading in the parks. This is a fun pastime and once you have your pins, free to participate. Find Cast Members wearing landyards and in-store pin boards to trade.
11. Free Stickers
Throughout the parks, Cast Members are known to hand out stickers. Guests can also politely ask a Cast Member if they have any stickers, they are fun to collect.
12. Free Ice Water
Various counter service eateries will give guests complimentary ice water. This is a great alternative to buying a bottle of water.
13. Free Digital Photo
While photos are not normally free at end-of attractions, there is one guests can score at no cost. At Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters in Tomorrowland at Disneyland park get a free digital photo copy. Simply stop by an interactive terminal after the ride and enter your email, to get your complimentary digital copy.
14. Free Wi-Fi
Disneyland Resort offers complimentary wi-fi in select areas of Disneyland Resort theme parks and the Esplanade. Use the Disneyland mobile app to find hotspots to access and select the network, “Disney-Guest”.
15. Free Sample of Freshly Baked Bread
Guests can take The Bakery Tour at Boudin Bakery. During the tour of this working bakery, guests will be offered a sample to try freshly baked bread.
16. Free Lilly Belle Train Ticket
If you are early enough and lucky you may be able to secure a ride on the Lilly Belle Train car. Make Disneyland Park for rope-drop and head straight to the Main St USA station for a reservation. At the end of your ride, the conductor will give you a Lilly Belle train ticket with a vintage flair.
17. Free Disneyland App Download
Guests will want to download this freebie. It is useful to check wait times, see restaurant menus, park hours and much more. Also take advantage of Mobile Order, which allows guests to skip the lines at select Quick Service restaurants in the parks.
18. Free Play Disney Parks App Download
Another free app to download is the Play Disney Parks App. This app is free for download from Google Play and the App Store. Turn waiting in line into play time. Such as with interactive experiences in select queue attractions. This includes at Toy Story Mania! in Disney California Adventure park, plus Peter Pan’s Flight & Space Mountain at Disneyland Park.
19. Free Lego Fun
Guests can visit The LEGO Store in Downtown Disney Resort to see amazing LEGO sculptures. Also, children will love the interactive play stations.
20. Free Park Maps
Not everything is completely digital, Guests can still pick up complimentary park maps in Disneyland Resort. The maps are colorful and often highlight the season or new attraction on the cover. They make for a great free keepsake.
