Yard Sale
We are having a yard sale tomorrow. We have a lot of random junk to sell. None of it is absolutely fantastic, but we need to get rid of it so I figured we would have a yard sale before we take it to the thrift store’s donation box. Fingers crossed that we do okay. The money is going into our emergency fund. Fun fun!
Also my daughter started kindergarten at the first of the week. Here’s a picture of her in a dress that my mother in law made.
Nothing else interesting to report. My coupons are not organized at all! I hope to have time to organize them this weekend and be back in full swing with everything by early next week.
Thanks again to all my readers. I love that you are reading my blog on a regular basis and I promise as soon as my life is organized and I am back on track, I will have tons and tons of useful information to post.

My Apologies
Hey everyone! Thanks for reading my blog. I am having a crazy time in my life right now. My oldest is 5 and just started kindergarten yesterday. Thursday was open house and orientation. So of course after that, I decided since we are starting a new chapter in our lives, the entire house needed to be cleaned and organized. I spent half a day in her room and 3 hours in my 2 year olds room plus tons of time in the other areas. Basically, I cleaned almost non stop from Friday morning to Sunday night. But almost all of my house is still spotless. :) Except my bedroom…
My bedroom is a disaster area. Half of it is items we are selling in a yard sale (this weekend) and the other half is kids items that I have got to prepare for the consignment sales. The drop off for that is this weekend too!
So unfortunately, my mind is not on couponing / bargain hunting right now. My current plan is to prepare everything for the consignment sale (we are talking about at least 10 huge black garbage bags full of clothes that have to be pressed, hung on hangers and tagged) and have the yard sale this weekend. I plan to be back in full swing on Monday of next week.
I would really love it if you could just bare with me. I am so thankful that you all read my blog and I want to help you all as much as I can. I just have got to get this stuff organized. It’s like a black cloud hanging over me. I will be sooooo glad when this week is over.

Frugal Tips 8.5.09
Daily Frugal Tips:
1. Place a rubber band on the neck of a pump bottle. This keeps kids from being able to push the head of the pump all the way down, but still releases an adequate amount of soap.
2. Save your plastic containers with lids to send leftovers home with guests. (Such as cool whip or butter containers)
3. Get a second shower rod and hang it in your shower. You can use it to hang clothes to dry and can even pull the curtain closed so guests do not see them. Simply slide the rod out of your way when not in use.
4. Don’t wash your towels after every use. If you like, you can throw them in the dryer to fluff up between showers. Wash after about 3 showers though.
5. Blot your razor blade dry with a towel after using. By drying it quicker, you prevent rusting which is the main culprit of razor blade dullness. A razor blade could potentially go from being good for just 2 weeks to being good for 6 months! Read more about that here!

CVS Scanner
A lot of CVS stores have a scanner machine like pictured above. You can scan your card at this machine and it will print out store coupons that are tied to your card. It’s almost like playing the lottery.
You can visit this great blog, IHeartCVS.com to see a list of all the current scanner coupons as well as numerous other great deals available at CVS.
Coupons printed at the scanner also print at the register on the bottom of your receipt. This type of coupon is referred to as Cash Register Tape coupon or CRT.

Walgreens $5/$25 Coupon
Walgreens has just released a $5/$25 coupon good only on Wed and Thursday. Your total HAS to be over $25 in order to use the coupon. The best way to keep your total high is to buy numerous deals that produce RRs.
