No Beer Purchase Required Rebates

in Posts

The main way I save for my Disney fund is by using rebates. My favorite type of rebates are issued by alcohol companies and are commonly referred to as beer rebates.

Beer rebates are most often issued by Heineken, Budweiser and Coors and are found in grocery and convenience stores. You will not find them on the beer companies website. They require you to buy a certain amount of their product and in return they give you a rebate on commonly purchased items such as meat, produce, soda and even gift cards.

BUT if you live in one of the 14 states that by law do not allow rebates by alcohol beverage companies, you can still get the rebate on the commonly purchased item! (The lucky states are AL, AR, CT, HI, KY, ME, MD, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OK, UT and WV.)

What do I mean exactly? Say there is a rebate that reads “Buy 2 12 packs of Budweiser and $10 worth of meat. Submit your receipts and the rebate form and get $10 back.” if you live in one of the lucky states, you just have to buy the meat! You would get $10 back via rebate for buying $10 worth of meat!

The fine print on the rebate will indicate if it is valid in your state.

Here is an example of a beer rebate: here. Notice along the bottom how it lists the states that do not require any beer purchases? Also look at this one. It lists in the fine print which states can participate and which ones require no beer purchase.

Another awesome thing about beer rebates is 90% of the time they require receipts instead of just receipt. So you can use multiple receipts to purchase all the qualifying items.

Always make sure to notice the start and end date for the rebate. They usually have both.

So now that I told you about beer rebates, I bet you want to find some yourself. I rarely find them in my store so I have to either buy them online or trade for them on Hot Coupon World. You can buy them on Ebay by searching “Beer Rebates”. Make sure you read the fine print!

If you want to trade for them, you need to start here.

Here are all the beer rebates I know about. I find them in the Gimme My Money Back forum on HCW. (Listed by expiration date. Most of these are valid in more states than just Alabama, but I am pulling these off my personal list. I live in AL so that’s why.)

NBPN means No Beer Purchase Necessary. NBPR means No Beer Purchase Required. Both mean the same thing really.

x1/31/10 $4 on Fresh Seafood (minimum $4.00) COMPLIMENTS OFF Kenwood Vineyards NBPN in AL.

x2/28/10 Buy chips or dip with a minimum $4 purchase and receive a $2 rebate check.

See all the rebate deals here.

What if you don't live in one of the lucky states? Is there a way to participate in these rebates without purchasing alcohol (we don't drink)? Thanks!

No, Unfortunately if you live in one of the states that require beer purchase there is no way around that. :(

Does the products have to be purchased in that state (NBPR)? We shop across the line, but live in a NBPR state. How does that work?

Where do you typically find the rebate forms? Would they be with the alcohol, or with the food/other product itself?

You find the rebates on displays of the beer. :)

I found the Budweiser $6.00 rebate. Do I have to purchase all the items on the form? I live in the "lucky" state of Alabama

No, you just have to buy $6 worth of any of the items. It can be all of one type or a combination of. :)

What if you shop in Al but live in MS?

It wouldn’t work as they look at your mailing address, not the address on the receipt. You might could get a PO Box in Alabama and it might work.

I live in OH which isn’t a lucky state but I found a beer rebate that you didn’t have to buy beer as I walked through a liquor display. $2 off fruit with a $2 or more purchase. Sorry no more info. I already sent it in but there are no beer purchase required rebates in other states too. This non drinker is going to start walking the liquor aisles.

Do you have to have the actual rebate form from the store or do you just need the “offer number”? Is there anyway to print the forms from the internet? Thanks!!!

Ashley – You have to have the actual rebate form. I’ve just now recently seen a printable coors nbpn rebate, that’s the first time I’ve seen it!.

Kristen, I found a Pabst Beer rebate at my Publix in Land O Lakes, FL-with no beer purchase required even for Floridians. The rebate is for $15 your food purchases-excluding store brands-and it can be for multiple receipts. I would have never even known to look for this without your blog. Thank you so much for the wonderful job you do!

Kristin,

For the Coors rebate it says buy $30 worth of these products. Which price do I need to be circling and counting on the receipt? For example, Kroger it rings up the the price as say $2.50, then right under it if you used your Kroger card is says in parenth. $2.00 and -.50 cents. Am I counting the actual price or the sale price?

Anna you will need to count the sale price since it takes it off right under the time. :(

Hello, I want to start my own coupon website that is directed around the cities I live in and I was wondering, do you pay for your website? I’m not sure how to start this, but I know I don’t want to pay for it, because obviously it would defeat the purpose of couponing! hehe!

Thanks!
Kelly

My local grocery store has DiGiorno pizzas on sale 2/$10. On the cooler door there is a coupon tearpad for $5 off when you buy two DiGiorno pizzas & some beer. Since Oklahoma is on the NBPR list for rebates, does that mean I can use the coupon on just the pizzas? Or does it only apply to mail in rebates?

There has been one a month of these for Smirnoff vodka. I have been able to cash in 5x for $8 each ( that’s 1x a month for the past 5). Ching Ching that is $40.

Thanks for the tip! I’ve found quite a few on Ebay. Just not sure why they sell them in pairs when you can only use one per household. As a military family we don’t have extended family nearby to use their addresses. Do you give extras away?

I have a question about the NBPR, I have one right now ( $25 rebate with $40 purchase of meats and Dos Equis) If I’m doing the no beer purchase part do I need to send in the meat UPC’s ( that seems kind of gross to me) Does anyone know the answer to this?
