Welcome to the new Couponing To Disney!

in Posts

Welcome to my new blog! I am so excited about how this has come together. It’s going to take a little getting used to, change always does… but this is going to be a lot better.

This is a 3 part blog. Disney, Bargains (how to save and make money) and Weight Loss.

If you are interested in learning more about me, be sure to read the About Me page.

Disney

I started this blog to show others that you too can afford things that you previous thought were out of your reach, just by being a Smart Shopper. You can go here to see an over view of how I save money for Disney.

If you want to follow my saving progress so far for our May 2010 trip to Disney World, you can read all about it here.

If you are interested in reading a trip report of my May 2009 trip, you can read it here. I warn you, it is pretty long!

If you want some advice on planning for Disney, you can find all my previous planning posts here.

If you are taking a trip to Disney, be sure to enter your information here.

If you want to keep up with all the Disney news I have posted, you can find it all here.

Bargains

These are the stores you will regularly see posted on my blog:

  • Amazon
  • CVS (I post the weekly deals on the Saturday before the sale starts)
  • Kmart
  • Publix (I post each weeks sale match ups no later than Wednesday)
  • Rite Aid (I post the weekly deals on the Saturday before the sale starts)
  • Target Be sure to see my huge list of items under $1 here.
  • Toys R Us
  • Walgreens (I post the weekly deals on the Saturday before the sale starts)
  • Walmart Be sure to see my huge list of items under $1 here.

If you are new to saving money, you can find my coupon basics posts here and my How To Be A Smart Shopper videos here.

To save the most money, you will need to know how to find and use coupons. Find all my Get Coupons posts here.

Do you have a Facebook account? Manufactures have started issuing frees and high dollar coupons to their Facebook fans. I keep track of the Facebook freebies here. Please note that most of these are expired, I just do this to show you the benefit of having a Facebook account. (I’ve only seen one Twitter offer so far.)

Another way to get coupons is by contacting the manufacture directly. I have a daily (Monday – Friday) feature on my blog called 5 A Day. I post 5 companies for you to email and give your opinion on. Find an overview of this feature here and catch up on all my previous posts here. And if you are curious, you can find a list of what I have received so far here.

Sometimes free samples also contain coupons. I have another daily (Monday – Friday) feature on my blog called 4 A Day. I post 4 samples for you to sign up for. You can catch up on all those posts here.

A lot of companies offer various rewards programs for their customers. Be sure to check out all my rewards posts here.

Almost every restaurant has either a coupon available or a club you can join. I never dine without a coupon. Be sure to go here to see all my dining deals.

A lot of retail stores (like ones at your local mall) have printable coupons available. Find my current listing of retail coupons here.

When shopping online, here are a few things to remember:

  • Always use a website that gives you cash back on your purchases. I use Shop at Home (my favorite) and Ebates.  Both give you a $5 bonus on your first purchase!
  • Always look for online coupon codes before you buy anything. My favorite is RetailMeNot.com.
  • And be sure to check out all my online shopping deals here!

Rebates are one of the biggest ways that I fund my Disney fund. Be sure to go here for all my rebate posts. You can also find a huge list of printable rebate forms here.

There are so many ways to make extra cash on the internet. See all my posts about Extra Cash here.

These are the survey sites I recommend:

  • Inbox Dollars Get paid cash to read emails.
  • Ispos I-Say Get paid to take surveys and try products.
  • Light Speed Get paid via PayPal when you reach 575 points.
  • Mindfield My second favorite. Only $5 to cash out.
  • My Points Earn gift cards to popular places. I’m saving for $50 gc to Rainforest Cafe.
  • My Survey My favorite survey site. $10 to cash out! (I’ve taken surveys worth $7.50!)
  • Opinion Outpost Get paid with Amazon.com credit instantly (minimum $5).
  • Reward Port Earn gift cards by reading emails and taking surveys.
  • Send Earnings Get paid to read emails.
  • Survey Head Get $5 just for signing up. Cash out via PayPal at $25.
  • Swagbucks Earn Swagbucks for searching online and exchange your Swagbucks for gift cards.
  • Valued Opinions Get paid to take surveys and try products.

I am not the only bargain blog on the internet. I recommend that you read a few other bargain blogs too. You can find my blog roll here. If you are interested in having your blog listed, please email me.

Weight Loss

I desperately need to lose weight before our trip in May. Look for a more info on this section of the blog in the New Year!

I’m sure you know this, but I thought I would share it just in case you didn’t. Be on the look out at your area Targets for clearance toys sale. For the past two years, I have kept a constant watch on them after Christmas and they will eventually get to 75% off and I as well as several others swoop in and buy them up. Makes for great presents through out the year for neices, nephews, my son and my son’s friends. You just have to keep watching and waiting, because you have to get there the morning that they go 75% off or you miss out on most of them. Good Luck and look the new site set up.

Thanks for reminding me! I was able to be there twice this year when the toys went 75% off. I checked this morning and they were still 30% off. Ew.

Kristin…do you still have a Disney Visa (I just glanced at your trip report and the Visa Meet & Greet caught my eye)?
Do you count those dollars toward your total for your trip?
We have one (just got it in June) and we already have almost $400 that I didn’t realize! (We put everything on this card then pay it off every month.) My original goal was to save $500-$100 before our trip in November – starting in January – and I am so excited to realize I am almost halfway to the max before the new year even starts! Woot!

Congrats on your new site! I love it! The whole spamming issue has me thinking about it too. I have definitely started backing up the important posts. It is so smart to move your site on your own timeline instead of waiting until the dreaded lock out!

Love the new site!! I would love to see a post (or more!!) on how to create your own website the “smart shopper” way. My family has a great fundraiser cookbook and I really need to get around to creating a site to promote it. Between working part-time, homeschooling and of course all those crazy chores that come out of nowhere, I need something in your common sense lingo to help me along =)

I am planning to apply for the grant for the bisquick pancake breakfast deal for a non profit for our community center. We have one every year as a fundraiser in May anyway, so this would be a great help.

The midwife precisely always makes the assumption that the publication of an at fault b mistakenly is comparable with the conception of truth – that the error and truth are simply opposite. They are nothing of the sort. What the age turns to, when it is cured on joined gaffe, is usually only another solecism, and maybe one worse than the first one.

All schools, all colleges, comprise two tremendous functions: to bestow on, and to hidden, valuable knowledge. The theological conception which they keep quiet about cannot justly be regarded as less valuable than that which they reveal. That is, when a manservant is buying a basket of strawberries it can profit him to recognize that the rump half of it is rotten.
