For those of you who have not finalized plans on where to stay let me help you a little. I work at the WL as a server and the meal plan is well worth it. Food is not cheap at disney. The other advise is that when you stay at any of the pop’s your transportation is more of a hassile. Figuring in the money spent for a hotel on the monorail line vs time spent traveling is something to think about. With kids it is just a lot easier. Or in the case of WL the boat runs directly to Mk. Any questions just ask.

Couponing Princess- I hope you mean when staying at an all stars as Pop does NOT share a bus and there is only one Pop. We have stayed at Pop 3 xs and loved it. Busses aren’t bad at Pop. Staying at a Monorail resort is nice (we will be staying at BLT next trip b/c of new baby), but you are talking about a $200+ difference per night. And I DO highly recommend the meal plan, as it always saves us $$$! Last year we saved $538 by utulizing our dining credits well!!! Good luck planning everyone!!!!

Coupon Princess-I’m the one going to Disneyland- Any suggestions for springbreak. We probably will have to drive from Portland, OR because of $$’s flying. (2 days each way driving) Also, losing a day w/family. So really a night or two at a pop if at all. A day or two at Disneyland doesn’t sound worth it. But it’s something I really don’t want to pass up this time! Been a couple of years since last trip.

My husband, son and I have a camper so we stay at the Fort Wilderness campground. It is right beside the Fort Wilderness Lodge and you can ride the bus or the boat to the MK. It is a FABULOUS place to stay. For those that do not have a an RV, there are cabins to rent. It is a little pricey but I think they have kitchens so you could actually bring food to save $$. There is soooooooo much to do at the campground: playgrounds, horse and pony riding, pools, bike trails, etc. One of our favorite things to do is every night the campground has a sing along w/ Chip-n-Dale around a campfire. They sell Smores kits but I would definately recommend bringing your own (they are expensive). They also have popcorn, hotdogs and drinks. If you are staying at a Disney resort and have kids you could take the bus to the sing along. Also after the sing along they show a different Disney movie every night on a BIG screen under the stars. Bring chairs or blankets. They do have bleachers to sit on but it’s great to spread a blanket on the ground and lay back to watch the movie. The sing along starts around 7pm I believe and then the movie starts at 8pm. The campground is just unbelievable and you can spend some fabulous family time together while winding down for the night. I would move into the campground if it was allowed!!! LOL!!!

Thanks so much for all the work you’ve done pulling together this list, especially in the midst of the website changes.

Let me varify. I am not saying to stay at a deluxe resort. However think of who you are going with. i.e. a 2 year old that does not want to be on a bus long. Or the ride back after a late dinner. I can give you advise it may or may not work for you. Just thought Id give a little insight. I am not sure about disneyland but my understanding is two there is enought to see everything. but that is only hear-say. if you are at the WL whispering canyon I am sure you will hear me. lol

I’ve found tickets to be the least expensive through Intercot.com. While they appear to be more at first, Intercot’s prices include taxes, while other sites don’t.

My family opted for the Disney Cruise for our vacation. We paid about $900 for a 3 night cruise for the 3 of us which includes everything (meals, drinks, entertainment, room service). The only thing not included are your shore excursions, if you want to do any, and any adult beverages you might want.

The nice thing is, I booked the cruise then had months to make payments on it. When we leave for our cruise in 5 weeks, most everything is already paid for. We even got a $50 shipbord credit to spend on the cruise.

There is a group of 14 of us going on the cruise and the ages range from 3 – 69. Disney provides amazing entertainment onboard that will please all ages. There are separate clubs for young kids, older kids and teens.

We will only have 1 day to spend at a park, and we are taking our 3 year old daughter to the Magic Kingdom. Since she is not into princesses, I made reservations at the Crystal Palace for lunch with Pooh & Friends, she adores them. With the “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day” promotion, my husband and I have already completed our volunteer service and will be receiving 2 free tickets into the Magic Kingdom. Yea!

My family of six (me and hubby along 1 boy (16) and 3 girls (17, 10 & 8) are planning to drive to Disney World with our stay beginning on August 19 and staying until August 29th. We will have a 10 day MYW pass with the Water Park Option. No meal option (unless free dining happens to fall during our vacation period). In August, you have to take advantage of the water parks. We have been going every year since 2000 and have stayed at different resorts but we love the Pop Century! Not only is it the newest of the value resorts but it has its own bus service versus the other all-star resorts which shares their buses. I consider myself a Disney World nut and have helped save $$$ not only for my family but for others as well :) Feel free to email me with questions!

Hooray!! I booked today!!!
Name: Traci
We are going Sept 18th – 26th. Our school system is taking a fall break at that time and the calendar was just released. I also just got my PIN for % off resorts for the 2nd half of the year, which was what I was waiting for. 2 adults and 3 children ages 8, 5 and 1 at the time of travel. We are staying at Pop Century. Previous stays were at Polynesian and Grand Floridian but incomes change so… Definitely Dining Plan. Park Hopper now but it may change. No water parks. We are driving from GA. Baby Girl’s first trip, our third. Going to pay cash every month until paid off. We will rent a double stroller everyday. Pricey but with 3 small children it is worth it for all 3 to ride in and haul the diaper bag and cooler.

M name is Carrie and we are planning to go either in December of this year or February of next (either way, it’s our Christmas gift). Our group includes my husband, myself and our three sons, ages 15, 13 and 2 at the time of travel. We’ve always stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter in the past and would like to stay there again. I have heard good things about Pop Century though, so that may end up being a more affordable option for us. I suspect we’ll get a 7-day hopper, but do not know for sure. I would like the trip to be under $3000 without airfare for all of us (we may drive). This is my umpeenth trip (I worked there for 6 months in 1994), my husband’s 3rd, my older sons’ 4th and my baby’s 2nd (we went for one day last spring).

I think I know way too much about things at Disney World, but I always find this site entertaining and bringing back good memories – keep up the good work :0)
