10 New Bundles of Joy

in Uncategorized

My mother has had quite the interesting weekend and I wanted to share it with all of you. She was not ready to breed her dogs yet, but accidents do happen…. And you won’t believe the outcome!

From my mother:

O.k this is the what I learned this weekend , when you think your dog is in heat she is. By the time you separate her its too late, and when you think she is finished having puppies she will wait 3 hour and have 4 more. When you don’t need lots of flashy puppies that’s what you get . Oh well, that’s my life . She is fine, puppies are healthy and I am exhausted.

The litter of Australian Shephards contains 6 Blue Merles (which is amazing! Usually a litter will have 50% or less) and 4 Black Tris. Only 2 of the 10 puppies are mismarked. So with her dog’s first litter she ended up with 8 show quality dogs! She is beyond ecstatic.

Well if you are in the market for an Australian Shephard, let me know. ;)

My husband says, “How much for a mismatched?” He doesn’t want a show dog, just a family pet.

I’ll ask my momma tomorrow about the price of the dogs. I’m not sure if she has even thought about it yet.

What is mismatched? We just bought a cockapoo puppy in December and were told that he is a chocolate merle. I’d never heard “merle” before we got him! Congrats to your mom.

Mismatched is when their coloring is off. One of the dogs has a little white on his ear. This makes him ineligible to be a show dog and they refer to it as being mismatched.

Ahh how cute, Had to do a double take on mom and pups. I didn’t think you can show a mixed breed pup even if they looked like the breed. Wondering what a Black Tris is? Is that a nickname to the Bernis Moutain dog breed?
How cute, could you please send me an email about the Australian Shephard puppies. Please, I haven’t seen any Austalians with that much peppering color.

They are full blooded Australian Shephards. Blue Myrle and Black Tris are just names for their coloring. The Blue Myrles are the ones with the gray and black coloring. The Black Tris are named that because they have 3 colors – Black, brown and white. :) Blue Myrles are the ones that are most sought after because they aren’t as common.

Are they full sized Aussies? I am personally looking for a mini, but I love ALL Australian Shepherds. For anyone who isn’t familiar with the breed, they are absolutely amazing dogs. They are super intelligent, loyal, and have the best personalities. My daughter was given one as a gift form her godparents when she was 2 (10 years ago) and now I am addicted. I can’t imagine having any other type of dog. We now have two, and we swear they have human souls in a dog’s body! They are the ultimate pet!!

This is Kristin’s mom. I was going to start breeding in the fall afer we started showing the Dad, but God had other plans. The puppies have wonderful bloodlines. They have champions heavy on both sides. But what is most important is the temperament and pureness of this line. Krissy will help me do a fan page so y’all can see them grow and also pics of mom and dad. The mismark (not mismatch) is a boy. He will be priced as a pet on limited reg with AKC. He is in no way defective. Read about the breed at Australian Shepherd Club of America, its a great site.
