I have a question. We are going to Magic Kingdom but were using our free passes from the give a day program. Is there a dining plan that can be bought separately or is there only a dining plan option for people who book a Magic Your Way package?

I love Cosmic Ray's! The Disney Dining Plan with 1 table service, 1 quick service and 2 snacks is $40 a day - that's what we usually get. That way we get one character meal every day, one counter service and 2 snacks (which can be used for muffins, etc. for breakfast at the hotel)

Great tips all! We are looking forward to our second trip to disney thus summer.
We loved the buffet Chef Mickeys for dinner. located at the Contemporary Resort its a short monorail trip from any park. the food was great, a mix of classic characters made stps at tables for pics, hugs, and autographs, the service was great, and the price was reasonable. it was also a good compromise for my two kids- daughter wanted breakfast with princesses, son wanted lunch with Pooh, this apealed to both.

My son, 6 years old was also allergic to Peanuts and treenuts. Did you know there is a treatment to get rid of the allergy. My son was blood tested, very servere allergy and it is now gone. I had never heard about it before and carried epi-pens everywhere I went...if you want more information about it, I can send it your way. My son now eats all nuts and loves not being different. If you want more info, just email me...aaronamyjay@gmail.com I just know that I was looking for any help I could get. I had no idea there was a permanent fix for it. NO SHOTS>>>NO MEDS!!! IT is amazing!

Oh I am so sorry about the allergy. I fyou make dining reservatins just note the allergy on the reservation. The Chef will come talk to you and make sure your son gets only food that is safe to eat. If you go to a counter service to eat you can tell them of the allergy and they will let you know what is and is not safe! Disney is THE BEST at handling food allergies!

Thanks Deb G. for the great tip! What a smart idea! Who would have ever thought you could get a burger for $0.69 at Disney World! That's cheaper than a regular McDonald's! We'll probably be doing this a lot when we go in April.

My best and favorite frugal tip for eating at disney is the bun-on-the-side-tip!! I order a double cheeseburger meal for my self and my daughter. Then I order an extra bun... get this... it's only 69 cents! Then when I get to the table I make my double cheeseburger into two single cheeseburgers... there are always enough fries for the both of us and we share the drink!! I have mentioned this tip to MANY friends and they have all loved it. Hope this helps someone out there!!!

Hi,
These are great ideas. I have one dilemma.... My son is allergic to peanuts. Does anyone out there have any recommendations for this situation. I am sure there are other kiddos that have this allergy as well. Thanks so much for your help.

We really enjoy the character dinner at the Liberty Tree Tavern. If you have a young daughter the Cinderella castle dinner is expensive But alot of fun it was my daughters favorite thing we did all trip. Another place we found last trip was Tony's Italian restaurant it is not a character meal but it does have a cute Lady and the Tramp theme and was on the dining plan.

My favorite snack is the brownie sundae at Mrs Potts Cupboard in Fantasyland. It's a huge brownie, soft serve ice cream, hot fudge (or caramel or both), whipped cream, and a cherry if I remember right. They also have a strawberry shortcake version. Yummy! Can't wait to go back, so I can have some more! Don't remember the price, but I remember it's cheaper than an ice cream sundae at the ice cream store on Main Street (and you get a brownie too!)

The Crystal Palace breakfast is amazing!! We did the character breakfast when we took our children(2 &5) for their birthdays (3 days apart). The characters were great and they did a special birthday march around the restaurant. My kids are still talking about it.

For the quick serve restaurants El Pirata y el Perico is a good one. The toppings bar is what really makes it stand out. We also love the Flame Tree (i think that is the name) at Animal Kingdom. The BBQ is really good there. I think it is my husband's favorite, because he always wants to eat there. We also really like the quick serve restaurants at Epcot (Mexico, China,& Japan) being our favorites. But we also love the sit down restaurants there as well. You have to eat dessert in France. That is just HEAVEN!! Also there is a cart in France that sells these Grand Marnier orange slush and Grey Goose Lemon slush AMAZING!!

I also really love The Land. It is a great place to find a wide selection of food.

Pizza Planet at MGM (sorry i can't get used to Disney Studios) is fun. I have 2 HUGE Toy Story fans, so that is a must for my family

$50!! That's not very frugal. For a family of 4, that's $200. I say wait on Disney's free dining plan.

You still made me want to go to DW though!

My favorite place to eat at (when it is open) is the Tomorrowland Noodle Station. You can get a bowl of orange chicken with steamed rice for around $8. They also have chicken noodle and vegetable soups that are wonderful. I always leave there completely full! I love the rotisserie chicken and mashed potatoes at cosmic rays too!

I agree about Aloha Isle! Such a treat, and it really hits the spot on a summer day! My favorite quick service place is Columbia Harbor House. My hubby loves seafood of any kind, and I love any place he can get fish and I don't have to smell fishy smell. Its proximity to the Hall of Presidents is a plus! Thanks for idea about a late breakfast at Crystal Palace!
