Disney World Training Day 21 – Mickey’s Toontown Fair

in Posts

This area unfortunately is about to be removed because of the Fantasyland Expansion. But if you are going before the end of the year, read on!

Mickey’s Toontown Fair opens at 10 am. Although they usually ‘drop the rope’ at 9:45 am.

Mickey’s House

- Stop by and check out Mickey’s house and then you can see him behind his house in the Judge’s Tent (I don’t meet Mickey here as he is in every park and there is usually a shorter line at the other parks).

Minnie’s Country House

- A very hands on house that the kids will really enjoy. No scheduled Minnie Mouse meet and greet here though. Although sometimes you might find her in the gazebo behind her house or with Mickey in the Judges tent!

Toontown Hall of Fame

- This is where you will meet The Princesses and The Fairies.
- If you really want to meet the fairies, I suggest you go first thing in the morning. We were at Toontown at 9:30 am and we were ready to go and we only waited 4 minutes to meet the fairies. By the time we got out, the line was already 45 minutes long!

The Barnstormer at Goofy’s Wiseacre Farm

- The minimum height on this is only 35 inches. My 2 year old was tall enough to ride!
- Sometimes Goofy rides the first ride of the day
- This ride will remain, but is going to be rethemed with the Fantasyland expansion.

Donald’s Boat

- Your kids will get wet here! So don’t let them play if you are worried about them getting soaked.

We had such a great time in Toontown last trip. I am going to be so sad to see it leave. But I know the expansion is going to be amazing! Do you have any tips to share?

I live in Orlando, about 20 minutes from Disney.( I am a live -in nanny whose is lucky enough to have a friend of the family I nanny for who works at Disney and can get me in for free) I was there in December and Minnie was out for a Meet-n-Greet in the gazebo behind her house. I have also met her with Mickey in the Judges tent. So sometimes you can catch her there :)

I’ve never actually seen this part–we always skip it. Looks awesome, though. Now that we have a little one, we def would have seen this one on our next trip!

Last fall we stopped at the Judges Tent right before the park closed. There was no line to see Mickey (Minnie was there too) and my son was able to talk to the characters for quite a while. Also, close to closing there was no wait to ride on Goofy’s Barnstormer and they would let you stay in your seats on the coaster for another ride so long as no one was waiting.

I love this area, it’s always been crowded when we’re there, but it’s still a nice break from the mad rush to get on rides.
While hubby takes the kids on Goofy’s rollercoaster, I take the wee one to the gift shop across the way.
It’s good to get out of the heat too!

My 6 year old likes Pete’s Garage, my girls like Minnie’s house and love the cake baking part!

Oh and I forgot about the nice little playground there. It’s a nice diversion to the madness as well!
I like that it is covered from the sun, but the things they climb on look soft, but aren’t. We always leave there with bruised knees! : )

My daughters and I just returned from Disney World a few days ago (March 13, 2011). Just posting this to clarify that Mickey’s Toontown Fair is now entirely closed/ walled-off. There are large, colorful posters on the walled-off area that show pictures of what the Fantasyland expansion will look like and they have the wording “Coming in 2012″. So it’s going to be next year before the expansion is complete.
