in Posts

Regal Cinemas is offering a free small popcorn when you become a fan on Facebook. The coupon is good until April 29th!

Rave Motion Pictures also offers a free small popcorn when you join their mailing list here.

AMC Theaters has a free MovieWatcher rewards program that enables you to earn points to cash in for free concessions or tickets. Go here for more info.

Does anyone else know of any other ways to save at the movies?

We LOVE the AMC moviewatcher program… lots of free goodies. The Entertainment Book offers ticket coupons for $7.50 tickets. I’ve never had to use them before, but our theater now charges $8.50/ticket.

Matinees! That’s really the only way to go. I can’t hardly pay $7+ per person to watch a movie. We usually go to a theater maybe once a year.

I buy my movie tickets at Costco – you buy them in pairs and I think it is just $14 for the two. They work at most of the theaters in my area and are WAY cheaper then buying them at the theater… you’ll save about $5 to $8 dollars! You obviously just have to buy in advance. And you will have to pay extra for special features like IMAX or 3-D movies.

That’s pretty neat! I did not know you could purchase tickets at Costco.

I used the Entertainment book last time I went to the movies and it was great. My night out was great! I bought a $25 gift card on ebay for like $21.01 (+ of course got a little cashback!), then used the Entertainment coupons to get our tickets for $7.50 each, then ACM gave us a $.50 coupon for a combo. So we saved a lot that day and had a great night!

If you get larger popcorn, they will apply the small toward the price of it. You don’t have to get the small. We never do. There are four of us and the small would not go very far.

I am currently collecting Pop Tart points (Each box contains 1 and you need five for a movie ticket) You can get up to 5 per person but you can’t use a code from the same flavor twice- so you have to try all 25 flavors if you want 5 tickets! Pop Tarts are also on sale at Safeway right now for $1 a box when you buy 5 :)
