Back in 2007 I joined a website called Paperback Swap. I’ve used this site every since to exchange my used paperback books for other paperback books. I most recently used my credits to complete my collection of Catherine Anderson books.
Paperback Swap is so easy to use. Here’s how it works:
1. Join Paperback Swap (this is my referral link and I will earn a free book credit. Make sure you refer your friends after you join!)
2. Post 10 books that you are willing to swap with other members. Once you have posted 10 books you will automatically receive 2 credits!
3. You can use your credits to order ANY BOOK YOU WANT (each paperback book costs 1 credit)! Just use their search feature to search over a million different paperback books. They have everything! And if you don’t see the book you want, you create a wish list and the minute that book is listed by a member, you are alerted!
4. If a member requests one of the books you have listed for trade, it is so easy to mail it to them! You just print out the Paperback Swap mailers (these print on computer paper), wrap up the book and affix postage (it’s usually $2.23 to mail a book) and send it off. When the member receives the book, you will receive a credit in your account (that you can use to get any book you want!)
5. It’s that simple! I love love love this site.
If you have any more questions, leave a comment and I will do my best to answer it.

You can also request best sellers and books on the NY times lists and get on a waiting list,..when the book is available- you are notified and you get your book! I hear about books on NPR and talk radio- and reserve them on Paperback swap!
To bad I didn’t find this before I donated a ton of books.
I’ve been a member for quite some time and love it.
I agree with getting a list together, I have even gotten bookd that recently came out by putting it on my wish list! Love this site!
I love PBS. FYI, there is another good swap site as well… http://www.bookmooch.com I list my books on both. Unlike PBS, which is only in the US, bookmooch is international, although you can choose to only mail books w/i the US – I like it because a lot of stuff I am looking for is more readily available in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand than in the US!
I love paperback swap, too…my favorite feature is that you can link your paperbackswap.com and swapadvd.com accounts and use book credits to request DVDs (at a 3 for 2 ratio). I’ve cleared off a shelf of books and, although it’s taken a little while, I’ve gotten almost all the classic Disney movies in exchange. It’s worked great for us!
I’ve been on PBS for quite a while. Love it!
great idea – but it sounds like a lot to spend on postage
I spend about $2.50 for each book I send out but then I get any 1 book of my choice sent to me free. I ususally end up with hardcover books for my DD or newer paperbacks for my DH.
This is an absolutely great idea, wondering if I can trade children’s books too!
I will sure check it out, thanks!
You can swap any book including kids books as long as the book is in good shape.
I love PBS!! I used quite a few of my credits to send books to my Grandma who was house bound. She loved the surprise of getting something fun in the mail.
I love this site! I’ve gotten a ton of books for my DD and now my DH is in love with the site too.
I love Swaptree.com! They have books, dvd’s & video games (wii, xbox, pc) You can trade a book for a video game, dvd for a book, dvd for a video game etc. ! I receive bestsellers within a month or two of their release! It’s awesome!
Gonna check this out, too:)
I was going to come plug Swaptree, too. I’ve gotten 150 books, dvds, and games since January 09. Postage for my paperback is usually $2.37, and that includes tracking info. I looked into paperbackswap, but I had a hard time finding the books I was looking for.
I love PBS, too:) We get tons of our homeschool books rom there:)
Thank you so much! I am so excited about this! I have already ordered my first two books!
