Disney World Training – Germany, United States and Japan

in Disney World Parks,Disney World Training

The World Showcase in Epcot contains 11 different countries. Each country has experiences, architecture, food and entertainment from their native lands. My kids have a blast exploring and meeting the characters and my husband and I enjoy taking in all the scenes.

Germany

Character: Meet Snow White and sometimes Dopey!

Attractions: Be sure to check out the miniature train exhibit. The train hasn’t been running the last 2 times that we were there, but it sure is cute to look at!

Also look for the clock and watch the little dolls come out on the top of the hour.

Kidcot Station: Located in the Volkskunst store.

Movie: none.

Tasty Treats: Apple Strudel

United Sates of America

Character: None scheduled.

Attractions: Check out the American Flag that was pulled from the rubble of 9/11.

Also visit the rotunda. You can whisper on one side and someone will hear it on the other.

Kidcot Station: Near the American Village. Also check out the hedge maze while you are visiting this Kidcot station!

Movie: American Adventure Theatre

Tasty Treats: Funnel cakes!

Japan

Character: None scheduled

Attractions: Check out the toy museum and the Japanese gardens. Also in the Mitsukoshi Department Store you can choose an Oyster and keep the pearl for about $17!

Kidcot Station: Near the exit area of Mitsukoshi Department Store.

Movie: none

Tasty Treats: Kaki Gori

This is one area of Disney we didn’t have enough time for. Next time we hit it first so we don’t miss anything.

MAKE SURE you pick up a Times Guide (at cash registers throughout the park, or at the entrance) and schedule some time to see the amazing shows that each country pavilion has to offer. Mexico has a wonderful mariachi band; China has amazing acrobats (children from China who come on an exchange program); Italy has a clown/mime that performs with audience participation AND The World Showcase Players perform a comedy version of Romeo and Juliet with audience participation; America has the fife & drum band and acappella singers; Japan is my favorite with wonderful taiko drummers and the candy lady, who creates animals by kids’ request, out of Japanese rice candy and the kid gets to keep their animal at the end, and Japan has a traditional storyteller; Morocco has the Mo’Rockin band with a belly dancer and kids can join in; France has a comedic acrobatic show with two waiters; the UK has a great Beatles cover band and the World Showcase Players perform with audience participation; and Canada has the band Off Kilter. PHEW! All of these shows will really enrich your WSC experience!!! Many people miss these shows because they don’t know about the Times Guide.

Make sure you go for the pearl in Japan. That was the most fun I had and I made 2 of mine into rings for about $50 a piece. In the store they have a great skin care line called SANA, that I have ended up ordering online for the last two years because I fell in love with it after buying it there. The ladies that work there are so friendly and will show you exactly what to buy. Also, get an umbrella made with your name written in Japanese. This was also pretty inexpensive, about $15 or so.
