Sam’s Club just announced on their Facebook Page that they are giving all new members who join between now and August 1st a $20 gift card (membership starts at $40 a year)!
They also offer collegiate memberships for college students. When students sign up for a new or renew their existing membership, they will receive a $15 gift card. Plus anyone who refers a student to Sam’s Club will get a $10 gift card when they purchase their collegiate membership! And if a collegiate member buys textbooks through Sam’s Club service, they will get an additional $30 gift card!
And if you just want to check Sam’s out for a day, take this coupon for a one day shopping pass! (You do have to pay a 10% service charge on your purchase.)

I don’t understand those one-day passes. We had a coupon for one once, and it said NOTHING on the coupon about a 10% charge. So we thought, cool, we can check out the club and buy some cheap things. Then when we got there and asked for our pass, they told us about the 10%. But you can ALWAYS walk into a Sam’s Club and get a one-day pass and pay 10%. So what’s the point of the coupons? In fact, what’s the point of the pass? Why not just automatically charge 10% for anyone who doesn’t have a membership card?
Because you can’t “just walk in” since they check membership cards at the door and won’t let you shop if you are not a member or with a member.
Yes, but you can always go to the membership section and get a one-day pass. (Also, maybe our Sam’s Club is lax or something, because I don’t think I’ve ever had them ask for my card when I walked in.)
I just don’t see the point of the one-day passes. Why should they care if a non-member walks in? Once they get to the cash register, they simply have to charge extra for anyone who is not a member.
