The difference in prices at Walmarts

in Posts

We are in the market for a new car seat for my 3 year old and we went to Walmart today to get the Graco Nautilus. The first Walmart had the car seat for $153 but they only had pink. The second Walmart had it in stock but it was $180! That’s a $26 difference! These Walmart stores were only 5 miles apart.

That just goes to show you how much Walmarts can differ in price.

Sometimes the color changes the price. I’ve seen identical shirts in the same store and one is more expensive than the other.

Kristin, They have it quite a bit cheaper online. Here is an old post I had, the prices are still good. The Matrix pattern is $139 and the pink Daisy is $142.

Where I live there are 4 Walmarts all within 5 miles or so of each other as well, and it’s the same here. Most people have figured out which one usually has the lower prices and then of course that Walmart is always out of stock on the things I go there to get at a lower price! Booo!

I ran into the same problem with the Nautilas car seat at Walmart. I went to Toys r us and showed the Manager the advertised lowest price and he matched the price for me.

We tried that. But Babies R Us wouldn’t do it because it wasn’t the exact same color. I ended up buying it on Amazon much cheaper with free shipping.

Isnt that the same one that is on sale at Target this week?

Ya! It is on sale at target for $139.99! If I was you I would price match it at Baby r Us and then use a 20% off coupon. Do you have a 20% off coupon? If not I can send you one I have extras.

That is insane. I live in NJ and every time you show a really incredible deal for some thing at Walmart (food) I gather up the matching coupons and head over to the only Walmart with a supermarket in the area…. and it never matches up. I thought that it was just because we were in a different state but now I know that it is just that my local Walmart is one of the more expensive ones. That is really crazy. Good luck to you. Thanks for letting me know where to find all the wonderful deals.

Check out Walmart.com. I got mine at Bye Bye Baby but they price matched it from Walmart.com. I think I paid $135.

I love albeebaby.com too. The last round of three car seats we had to buy have all come from there. I got a Nautilus from there and LOVE that seat.

We live in a Metro area (Detroit) and you would be surprised how the prices differ between the same stores in certain cities. We live in Livonia and the Wal-Mart by us is very nice and considered in a good neighborhood, but the one 2 block south is in the same city and has lower prices. It not only happens at Wal-Mart but at other stores too. I have a friend that calls me when she wants something from the Target dollar bin because the ones by her house are $1.50 instead of just a dollar. It is due to the fact that the area that Target is in is high economic status then were we live. I have seen it at Kroger too.

At the one I work at we were told that we comp other walmarts in our area and walmart.com, hope that helps!

Amazon has it for $139. In fact this is the one we have and was bought on Amazon over a year ago.

It’s really funny you mentioned this – just today I was talking to a friend about the different prices at 2 different wal-marts within 5 minutes of each other! It’s crazy!

Yes, and I asked and they don’t price match between other Walmarts or their own Walmart.com. That’s crazy!

I would tell them, “Fine, I will take my money elsewhere.” LOL

I have two of those car seats and LOVE LOVE LOVE them!!! I am just now letting my almost 5 year old use the buckle only instead of the harness and I really would prefer the harness. I love that I have the option!! :-)

I have these car seats and tehy are FANTASTIC for the price…I actually got mine at WALMART, but online…their online price was $40 cheaper! At the time, they had .99 shipping for it, but you could also just do site to store.
I HIGHLY recommend this car seat. I have my 2 and 5 year old in it : )

This among other reasons is why I don’t shop at walmart. Never worth the hassle! I really dislike them for the poor costumer service! I would much rather (and I do) spend my money at other companies that at lease make an effort to be accommodating to their costumers.

Wow, quite a difference! The car seat I have been waiting to buy is the Evenflo Triumph Advance. (I also want to buy a Cosco Scenera for my husband’s car.) They’ve had one on Amazon for $120 for months, and in all this time, even with a 20% off coupon at Babies R Us, I have not managed to find it cheaper anywhere else. (I’m guessing the price-matching thing at BRU does not apply to Amazon.)

It’s not Wal Mart, but I was at a different Target last night than usual and noticed an extreme difference in prices and price cuts. Huggies are usually $8.99 at my normal Target. They were $10.26 at this one! Holy Moly! They are far less coupon friendly at this particular location, too. Maybe the managers are pocketing a little on the side or something… ;)
