FINALLY!!!!!!! My friend here at work told me about it too! Made my copy for my binder.
LOVE IT!!! The cashiers and managers are going to be sooooo confused when they are bombarded with couponers showing them their coupon policy. This is way over due, but I am glad they have finally put a policy in place so every Walgreens store will be on the same page. Kristen, thanks for the heads up!
Hallelujah!!! :)
“There is a limit of one Register RewardsTM (RR) printed per offer per customer per transaction.”
It does not say you may not do multiple transactions in order to get multiple RR’s :p ha ha
They do have the right to put a limit of how many of each offer per customer. If they dont then most of the time all of the deals would limited to just one or two customers.
You can do multiple transactions but walgreens can limit the amount of transactions you can do and how much you can purchase. ;P ha ha
I am about to quit going to Walgreens because of their Customer Service. Checking out there is ALWAYS a nightmare. Maybe this will help.
One thing that is helpful is to go to the Cosmetics register because is kinda rude to hold up other customers so you can make 10 transactions. I happen to have good relations with my local Walgreens Mgt. Just try speaking to them and ask what they like and dont like from you. I go the last day of the ad and theve ask if i try to leave 1 or 2 items on the shelf for other shoppers. Sometimes they will even order extra just for me. :)
The coupon amount must be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied. (For example, a $5.00 coupon for a $4.99 item will result in a $4.99 coupon value).
That is fine but doesn’t the company get the $5 back from the manufactor? (minus the 8cents handling fees)
I understand that this example was only a penny but many times I have have $2-4 more from a coupon. I am sure that Walgreens is going to get the full amount of that coupon and make the profit. Just sounds weird to me.
They are supposed to write the actual amount on the coupon if it is less…doubt many do but that is how it is supposed to work.
The problem with that is companies don’t dumb down their reimbursement amount. It the company says $2 off, Wags gets $2 back. They don’t look at every coupon to make sure that Wags didn’t dumb it down to $1.50. It’s scanned in an electronic processing warehouse on a conveyor belt and they are reimbursed full price PLUS the $.08 handling. So, in my scenario, Wags makes $0.58 off of me. I have never liked that about Target either. But, what are you going to do? :-(
Happy we have some ammo though!!! Thanks for posting Kristin!!
I have found that most retailers wont give you money back if your coupon exceeds the price of the product.
I am so happy about this. I shop there a lot! There is a lady at a particular store in my area that takes personal offense when I use coupons!
Yes, it is almost like you are taking money out of their pocket.
Woo-hoo! I’ve had both the problem with the coupon exceeding the sales price by once cent and the problem of using two identical manufacturer’s coupons on two items … good to know that those will no longer be issues, no matter who the cashier is!
I’ve never done a BOGO coupon with a BOGO sale at Walgreens before, but it also sounds like this policy allows that. Nice! :-)
OK, it states that if you redeem an RR towards the same item, you will not get another RR … but I thought the rule was that you couldn’t redeem an RR towards any item made by that same manufacturer? Is this not the case? Is it only an issue of whether or not you can get another RR? Because sometimes I have an RR from one item, and I want to use it for another, but it turns out the other is made by the same manufacturer, so I choose something else.
You can use a RR form the same offer if you wish but it just wont print you another one.
Hi, After sending my several e-mails complaining about not having a published corporate policy on couponing, and I’m sure the thousands of complaints from other couponers, they finally did what common sense should have told them was good business practice at the beginning, and publshed a clear corporate policy. We can only imagine how many millions of dollars they saved in wasted store managers time by not doing the right thing at the start.
Hello There! So I am a new mom, therefore new to couponing :)
I am so confused about the walgreens rewards coupons. So, once they print from the register, I can use them towards that purchase? Is that how I’m understanding it? Otherwise I’m not sure how it’s free?
Please help a confused/new couponer :)
Hi, You can not use the Walgreen RR coupon on the same purchase. An item is considered free in this type of situation because you received RR which is like money. Example if you purchase a 2.00 item and receive a 2.00 RR you got your money back.
In have a question about the Walgreens RR, since I am new to the whole process. If I were to buy three of the same items, using three coupons, and these items are eligible for $5 RR; would I be able to receive 3 RR or just one because of them all being the same item?
If you are buying 3 like items, you need to buy 1 item and pay and get your rr reward, and then buy your second item and pay and get another rr reward and so on. Do not use your rr reward from the first purchase to buy your second item, or you will not get another rr reward.
Thank you for posting Walgreens coupon policy! I’m new to couponing. I couldn’t wait to get to Walgreens to try my first purchase with RR using multiple transactions. The cashier said No no no you can’t do that! I ended up doing one big transaction (which if fine b/c I’ll use the RR next week) but from now on I’ll be armed with their own policy. Thanks again!
Has anyone had issues with getting a raincheck and not getting it with the RR price included? I have had several managers issue me rainchecks with the RR price. Say toothpaste was 2/$5 with $3 in RR so it’s like paying 2/$2, so the manager gave me a raincheck for 2/$2. But there is 1 manager who don’t do it. I can’t find a straight answer! Hopefully I can find it here:)
I get so upset at Walgreen. It is sometimes easier to just go to Walmart and have them match the price. Every time I go I have problems with them not have the products, not taking my coupons or not receiving my RR. I am refusing to go to Walgreen.
I was at walgreens today and they had the axe body wash on for b1g1 50% off and I had a b1g1 free coupon. I thought they would have taken it off of the full price one but when i got bact to canada I realized they took it off of the 50% off item so it was like i got it for the b1g1 free? any suggestions??
thanks
