At least near me, Meijers charges $4.95 to activate gift cards for other merchants. So unless your Meijer is different it’s really just a $.05 savings.

I think the only gift card that has the $4.95 charge are for the VISA , American Express, Mastercard, etc. The ones that you can use anywhere. I work there and have only seen a charge on those kind of gift cards
The retail stores (Gap, Foot Locker, etc), restaurants (Applebee’s, Red Lobster,etc.). usually have no charge.
I’m thinking about getting a couple to use at the Disney store online (Christmas) or Disney World when we go in March so thank you for the heads up :-)
Yay! I just got some birthday money today that I’m going to go buy a Gift Card with it for my October trip. And ironically I got a Disney card too that they bought at Meijers and there was no fee.
I think I will convert my Disney fund that I have saved so far to gift cards. These have no expiration, right? I shop Meijer every week so this is a GREAT deal for me!!

Did this deal 4 times today!! Went through u scan and just did 4 transactions. Just a head’s up…you cannot use the $5 coupon from the first transaction on the second and still get a $5 coupon. Fine with me as I shop there anyway just wanted everyone to know.

Does the $5 coupon have any limitations? (like you can only use one $5 coupon per transaction at Meijer?) Thanks!
Says limit one coupon per transaction per day. Cannot be used on alcohol, tobacco, prescriptions, lottery, gift cards, postage, tickets, ….usual prohibited stuff. Is only one per transaction though. You could always go through the U-scan and do multiple transactions. I plan to do this deal 8 more times. That is a savings of $60!
Can you buy more than 1 at a time and get a $5 for each one? Or do you have to buy 1, pay, get the coupon and then buy another, pay, get the coupon…..
