Restaurant.com is offering their $25 gift certificates for just $1 when you use the code WOW at checkout. The certificates are valid for one year but the discount price is only good today!

Here are a few restaurants near Disney you might want to check out:

House of Blues located in Downtown Disney (try zip 32830) or at Disneyland (try zip 92801)
You do have to spend at least $35 before coupon and pay 18% gratuity on your total bill.

Garden Grove located at Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Resorts (try zip 32830)
You can eat dinner with some of your favorite Disney characters! You must purchase at least 2 entrees (this is a buffet) and 18% gratuity will be added to your bill.

A testimony from a reader…. I ate at the Garden Grove at Disney two weeks ago. We had dinner around 7:30 , and Pluto and Goofy were both there and VERY ATTENTIVE to our kids.
The food was excellent! but a word of warning…this is a buffet and it’s pretty pricey, about $31 per adult, and if you have a ten year old child, they are considered an adult. So it was a pricey meal even with the coupon, But the food was great and the Characters were awesome! so it was worth it. Goofy even picked up my daughters napkin off the floor and placed it on my daughters lap. Too sweet!

Todd’s English bluezoo at Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Resorts (try zip 32830)
You must purchase 2 entrees and 18% gratuity will be added to your bill.

Shula’s Steak House at Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Resorts (try zip 32830)
You do have to spend at least $35 before coupon and pay 18% gratuity on your total bill.

Kimons at Disney’s Swan and Dolphin Resorts (try zip 32830)
You must purchase 2 entrees and 18% gratuity will be added to your bill.

A suggestion from a reader… I’d highly recommend Giordano’s. It’s Kissimmee location has just been added to Restaurant.com listing – we’re so excited! It’s just a short distance from Disney & so so good.

Keep in mind that these do not work like traditional gift cards, they are more like a 50% off coupon. Each restaurant has it’s own fine print on what you need to purchase in order to use these gift certificates. I’ve seen them where you have to spend $35 and pay 18% gratuity to use the $25 gift certificate. However, this is still a great deal and a great discount and you can print them right from your computer. An instant gift. Just make sure you read the fine print. Plus they usually don’t expire for a year! Another reader suggests calling the restaurant before you buy the certificate to make they still accept it.

You must comment on this post to be eligible to win the $50! Make sure you use the same email addy you have used this month. I will verify that you posted on at least 10 days worth of posts (over a 10 day period) before announcing the winner. :)

Can you go an entire month without going out to eat? What about a week or a day? Can you cut your dining bill by 20%, 50% , 75% or more? That is what I challenge you to do!

At the end of the 30 days, I will choose one winner who will get $50 to spend at a restaurant(s) of their choice!

The rules:

1. You must challenge yourself. Try to spend less than you spend now. If you don’t go out to eat at all, challenge yourself to try new meals this month. As long as you are challenging yourself when it comes to your family’s eating habits, you can participate!
2. You must comment on at least 10 days worth of the discussion posts in order to be eligible to win the gift card.
3. The winner will be chosen at random. It won’t matter if you have been 100% successful or not.
4. You are allowed 1 freebie meal that you don’t have to count or report back to us about. Please report on everything else though so we can encourage and support one another!
5. Free meals do not count against you. This is a challenge to spend less money going out to eat than you usually spend. If someone else is paying for the meal or you have a coupon to make it free, great!
6. Here is a thought… consider keeping a tally of what you would of spent this month. For example, if you really want to go out for breakfast this morning and you resist… write that down! You could then donate that money to a food bank or deposit it into your fund!
7. Be sure to check out our list of casserole recipes here and the crock pot recipes here and the under 6 ingredient recipes here.

My progress:

No dining out for us yesterday. Well we did go to church for dinner and spent $20 but the money goes to Missions and I don’t count that.

How are you doing?

Toy Story Mania is one of the most popular rides at Disney World. The line for this ride is long all day long. Fastpasses are commonly gone by lunch or earlier. If you want to ride it without waiting for an hour or more, you need to get here early!

What makes this ride so popular? Well it is because it is so much fun!

As you make your way through the line you’ll notice oversized items from the movie. This is a great time to stop and have your picture taken with some of your favorites!

Taken just outside the ride.

This ride is in 3D so you will need to pick up a pair of the super cool 3d glasses. Each ride car has seats on both sides. You can play against other people in your party and see who gets the highest score! If someone choose to either play side by side or it’s only one person riding, the cast members of the ride will yell into the waiting line that they are looking for parties of 2 or less. If this applies to you, make sure you are listening! You can skip ahead 20 or 30 people and get on the ride now!

During the ride you will try to score as many points in a variety of Toy Story themed games. Here are some great tips on how to score more points.

If you love Toy Story Mania and want to experience the fun at home, the Wii game closely resembles the games in the ride. We have a great time playing the game at home!

Be sure to catch up on the previous training posts here.

Why do we go on vacation to Disney World? Yes, we have fun and enjoy ourselves but the real reason for most of us is the memories we make with our family and friends.

Disney has decided to expand on that thought in 2011. The theme for the year will be “Let the Memories Begin”. Here are a few things you can expect from this promotion:

  • TV ads for Disney Parks in 2011 will feature real home movies of guests creating memories at the parks
  • Each night in 2011 over 500 photographs taken in the parks that day by photopass photographers will be featured on Cinderella’s Castle at Disney World and It’s a Small World at Disneyland.
  • You can now share your favorite Disney memories right on the park’s website here.

I think this is going to be a pretty fun and sweet promotion! I look forward to learning more about what Disney has in store for us!
