Can you go an entire month without going out to eat? What about a week or a day? Can you cut your dining bill by 20%, 50% , 75% or more? That is what I challenge you to do!

At the end of the 30 days, I will choose one winner who will get $50 to spend at a restaurant(s) of their choice!

The rules:

1. You must challenge yourself. Try to spend less than you spend now. If you don’t go out to eat at all, challenge yourself to try new meals this month. As long as you are challenging yourself when it comes to your family’s eating habits, you can participate!
2. You must comment on at least 10 days worth of the discussion posts in order to be eligible to win the gift card.
3. The winner will be chosen at random. It won’t matter if you have been 100% successful or not.
4. You are allowed 1 freebie meal that you don’t have to count or report back to us about. Please report on everything else though so we can encourage and support one another!
5. Free meals do not count against you. This is a challenge to spend less money going out to eat than you usually spend. If someone else is paying for the meal or you have a coupon to make it free, great!
6. Here is a thought… consider keeping a tally of what you would of spent this month. For example, if you really want to go out for breakfast this morning and you resist… write that down! You could then donate that money to a food bank or deposit it into your fund!
7. Be sure to check out our list of casserole recipes here and the crock pot recipes here and the under 6 ingredient recipes here and the what’s for dinner posts

My progress:

My hubby went to Firehouse Subs for lunch yesterday. He’s been working long, crazy hours and that is the only break he gets. I let into him though for not checking the coupon book for the coupons first. He won’t do that again. ;)

How are you doing?

Here are my absolute best tips about almost every attraction at Hollywood Studios (excluding Toy Story Mania, that’s a separate post.):

Backlot Tour

  • Check out all the awesome special effects
  • If you don’t want to get wet, don’t sit on the left!
  • This ride will take 35 minutes to complete

Great Movie Ride

  • Ride will take 19 minutes
  • I suggest visiting in the afternoon
  • Ride in the B car (back car) if possible.
  • Check out all the hand prints in front of the Hollywood’s legendary Graumann’s Chinese theater at the entrance to the ride
  • Your tram could be hijacked by either a gangster or a Western bandit. The bandit does not come out as often.

Honey I Shrunk The Kids Playground

  • Opens 1 hour after the rest of the park
  • You can get wet by the super soaker
  • Make sure you put your hands up the big dog’s nostrils
  • Children 2 to 5 can enjoy the Junior Adventures area

Indiana Jones

  • Even if the line is stretched all the way back to the 50′s Prime Time Cafe you will still get a seat
  • The first 8-10 rows in the center are the best seats
  • Look for the well and pull the rope!

Jim Henson’s Muppet-Vision 3-D

  • It will likely be crowded after Indiana Jones let’s out
  • Try to sit in the back middle area
  • Be sure to look under the mat for the key!

Lights, Motors, Action! Stunt Show

  • The FASTPASS to this attraction is not linked to the other systems. You can get a FASTPASS here even if your window isn’t open
  • Try to sit as high as you can. We sat on the back row!

Magic of Disney Animation

  • You get to take home the drawing you create. Free souvenir!
  • If you don’t care to do the show again, you can go through the Animation Gallery store to get back to the meet and greet / computer area

Playhouse Disney Live On Stage

  • The audience sits on the floor and you don’t want to be near the front (it’s a puppet type show)
  • It’s okay for the kids to get up and dance!

Rock ‘n” Roller Coaster

  • Fastpass Attraction
  • Riders must be 48 inches tall

Voyage of the Little Mermaid

  • Fastpass attraction
  • Middle of the rows are the best views

Sounds Dangerous

  • Seasonal attraction. Only open when the park is very busy.

Beauty and the Beast

  • Outdoors but shaded with fans

Tower of Terror

  • Fastpass Attraction
  • Riders must be 40 inches
  • Ride changes almost every time
  • You’ll never see me on this one

  • 4 minutes, 30 seconds long
  • FASTPASS ride

American Idol Experience

Just getting started? Read this guide here!

Publix doubles coupons up to 50c every day! This listing takes into account the doubled coupon amount.

Warning: If you live in Florida, your coupons don’t double. Also your BOGOs ring up full price and zero instead of half price like in the rest of the states. If you don’t live in Florida, all the deals on this post will work for you exactly as I have it listed. Also Florida sales run Thursday to Wednesday. Visit The Prudent Patron’s under $1 list for stores that do not double.

These are the hot deals that are under $1. Please visit I Heart Publix to find the complete ad match up. I am only listing the items that less than $1 (or are such a great deal I don’t want you to miss them).

I am so excited about this one!

Sam’s Club is offering a 15 week membership for just $15. You must purchase it between September 29th and October 10th.

This membership will be good though the holiday season. Sams Club has a great selection of toys (their sets usually have more to it. Like it might be a Leapfrog Tag Reader and 2 books for the same price as the 1 book set at Walmart.), holiday decorations, food gifts and more!

Go here for more details.

(Thanks Fun Finds For Families!)

Imagine my excitement when I noticed how the server had positioned our plates. – D

Have you found Mickey hiding out in your everyday life? If so, be sure you snap a picture for me and send it in so I can share it.

I feel like I missed a lot over the past few weeks that Emily has been sick. So to make sure I cover everyone’s questions, I thought I would do a Q&A post. If you have any questions about couponing, rebates, Disney, etc etc feel free to ask them here and I will be sure to answer them.

This is an older post that I just moved up because I totally forgot to answer the questions. :-/ I’ll blame it on pregnancy brain and the lack of full night of sleep.

Feel free to add your questions!
