November 2010

Chili’s is rewarding us this holiday season with a new coupon promotion. Every day until Christmas Eve, they will list a new offer in the Chili’s Holiday Specials section. Some of the offers will be for FREE food, but others are just advertising deals they are already running (like the 10% off the giftcard and the $20 feeds 2 deal).

Be sure to check out all the current dining deals here.

Groupon has a great deal today that will get you $50 worth of essentials like laundry detergent, medicines, body washes, razors, chips, dips, etc for just $25 from Dormzy!

Please keep in mind that your packing slip from Dormzy will NOT have prices listed next to the items so it is not a good idea to try to purchase items you want to use for a rebate from them. (My friend placed an order in the past and checked the packing slip for me.)

You may purchase 1 Groupon for yourself and 1 as a gift. You can not use it until 12/2 and you have until 9/2/11 to redeem it.

Here’s how to get this deal:

  • Go here to join Groupon and get the offer for your local area.
  • If you already have an account, go here to purchase your Groupon.
  • Then select Lexington, KY under Visit More Cities.
  • Purchase your Groupon. It should be activated to use within 24 to 48 hours.
  • This deal is available until midnight tonight!

Plus you could be earning cash back on your Groupon! You can check out all the places I for cash back here. Since you are making the purchase anyways, why not earn a little bit extra for your fund?

(Thanks Savings and Stewardship!)

I spent 3 hours last night printing pictures from our Disney trips. The deal they had on Snapfish ended at midnight, but there is another print deal that is good today!

You can get 75 free prints from Snapfish when you use the code ISTOCK75 at checkout. Shipping will be $4.42 but it comes out to just $0.058 a print which is about as low as you are going to get! (I actually paid $0.068 a print last night!) This deal ends tonight!

And if you are new customer you get 50 free prints as well! Shipping is $6.87 or $0.054 per print an even better deal! (Thanks Debra!)

Can you go an entire month without going out to eat? What about a week or a day? Can you cut your dining bill by 20%, 50% , 75% or more? That is what I challenge you to do!

At the end of the 30 days, I will choose one winner who will get $50 to spend at a restaurant(s) of their choice! (You have to of posted on 10 days worth of posts.)

The rules:

1. You must challenge yourself. Try to spend less than you spend now. If you don’t go out to eat at all, challenge yourself to try new meals this month. As long as you are challenging yourself when it comes to your family’s eating habits, you can participate!
2. You must comment on at least 10 days worth of the discussion posts in order to be eligible to win the gift card.
3. The winner will be chosen at random. It won’t matter if you have been 100% successful or not.
4. You are allowed 1 freebie meal that you don’t have to count or report back to us about. Please report on everything else though so we can encourage and support one another!
5. Free meals do not count against you. This is a challenge to spend less money going out to eat than you usually spend. If someone else is paying for the meal or you have a coupon to make it free, great!
6. Here is a thought… consider keeping a tally of what you would of spent this month. For example, if you really want to go out for breakfast this morning and you resist… write that down! You could then donate that money to a food bank or deposit it into your fund!
7. Be sure to check out our list of casserole recipes here and the crock pot recipes here and the under 6 ingredient recipes here.

My progress:

No dining out for me yesterday! I was too busy to leave. LOL

How are you doing?

A Season Of Giving

Barbie, from A Season of Giving has invited each of my readers to participate in a blog that was created to help inspire all of us to give this holiday season. A Season of Giving provides a place where we can all come together, encourage, inspire one another, and share stories and pictures of the acts of giving that not only we have received, but that we have given.   Making this holiday season merrier for everyone, one person at a time.

To participate:

  • Head over to A Season Of Giving to learn more and as the stories start to come in, read some truly inspiring and wonderful stories of acts of giving.
  • Please take a few moments and write down what you did or tell us about how someone has given to you.  Take some fun pictures and include them as well.
  • E-mail them to Barbie at aseasonofgiving@ gmail.com
  • She will post the pictures and stories on the blog for everyone to enjoy and be inspired to give of themselves and make this a wonderful Season Of Giving.
