Where to keep your Disney fund…

in Your Disney Fund

One of the most important Couponing to Disney tips is saving all your spare coins and dollar bills for your fund. But it is also important to you find a container for this money that inspires you every time you put money in it. This makes saving fun and enjoyable for the entire family.

My fund is kept in a variety of banks throughout the house. My kids each picked out their own Disney bank and they add their change to it. Here’s Jacob’s:

Go here to check it out.

I asked my readers to send me pictures of their Disney fund containers. If you feel like sharing, please send it my way….

This fund container comes from my reader Jamie….

When I first found saw your site I was searching for coupons and was like “THIS SITE IS AWESOME!!” and “I want to go to Disneyland!” and have been following you ever since. Since then you have saved me soooo much money at Target, Walgreens, Amazon, along with everywhere else I shop. No to mention, you helping me shop all throughout Christmas (You are a life saver by BTW!). I have been doing as you say and have already made over $200 in rebates, survey cash, ebates, neat new bank accounts (Now our Disney vacation checking account). All thanks to you!!

So we set our trip date for September 19 (Me and my hubby’s 2yr Anniversary) and we needed something to put our vacation cash into. My daughter and I made the cutest little box. All it took was a some scissors, glue, construction paper and the inserts from our Disney DVD’s. There are so many little add and promotions inside that we didn’t even need so they made for some adorable decorations! We had so much fun doing it to!

Our daughter loves to put money in there to. She now picks the $1 bill over a cookie at Target when we go just so she can come home and give the money to the “DiseeeLand box” lol. And I even find my husband putting spare cash in there now too.

This one comes from my reader Kim….

Here you go, nothing pretty..but it keeps the money we “find” and save just fine! We had this after our daughter had her tonsils out and we ate a ton of ice cream with her. We just put all our change, and the money we make from recycling in the “Savings for Disneyland” ice cream jug. I keep it out in the laundry room on a high shelf to keep the temptation not to spend it from all.

Do you have pictures of your Disney fund that you want to share, if so please email them to me.

Be sure to check out all the ways you can add to your fund as you Coupon to Disney!

I just want to add this caveat: More than once, on a popular message board, I have seen someone report that their cash jar was stolen. So maybe hide it somewhere or don’t be very vocal about it to acquaintances, etc.

Totally agree. I empty our jar at least once a month in order to deposit it into the bank to keep temptation down to spend it as well as unwelcome intruders from postponing our trip with their sticky hands.

I was using an old plastic container with a slit cut in the lid, on our last (and first ever) trip to Disney my son got the Goofy Container of cotten candy for a snack – I know use it for our fund – I keep it on the counter in the kitchen : )

We took an old lego container, took the lego stickers off, and covered it with Disney stickers. Any change goes into, as well as the $10 I donate a week from my petty cash. Anytime we get more Disney stickers, they go on the “bucket”.

I bought a bank that has a coin counter in it. So it makes saving so easy. As we add change into it we see it get added up. Some times we make it a game to see what number we can get too. I picked it up at Ross for just a few bucks!

We use one of the Disney containers that the popcorn came in at Magic Kingdom.

We use a jug from a water dispenser. We deposit it every time it becomes almost too heavy to lift. We haven’t ever been, but hopefully soon enough.

I opened a Christmas club at the bank to save my disney fund. That way I’m least likely to spend it.
