I wanted to make a quick reference post for those of you that are interested in earning extra cash by doing surveys.
Here are a few things to keep in mind:
- I only promote a survey company on Couponing to Disney if I have personally received a payment from them by doing their surveys.
- The companies listed below I have been a member of for well over a year.
- I have not received excess spam mail, snail mail or phone calls by sharing my information.
- Survey companies do require a lot of demographic information when you register in order to qualify you for specific surveys. Those demographics are time consuming, but worth it in the end.
I am going to arrange this list in order of my favorite sites:
My Points (They have a Rainforest Cafe gift card which is located at Animal Kingdom and Downtown Disney!)
Please let me know which one of these are your favorites!
This is one of the many ways you can add cash to your fund. Be sure to see all the ways to earn extra cash.

Have you ever broken down what you have earned in a year from each one? I’m a SAHM and I don’t think I would have time to do all of them! I would have to pick and choose which ones were best for my “fund”. Could you give your top 5 picks for those of us who can’t do them all?
I have done Mypoints from the beginning and continue to use it now. I earn Rain Forest (I use it at T-rex) GC’s and then have switch to Subway GC’s when I have enough RF for my trip. For the past 3 years I have earned enough each year to eat totally free, including tip! (last year there were 5 of us)
I will be doing a post pretty soon spelling out what I earn from which company. It just takes a while to write it all up. :)
My favorite is MY points, I have earned gift cards rather fast from them, sometimes I will have survey opportunities 5- 6 times a day, sometimes more and even if you don’t qualify you still get points. And I love that you get points just for clicking on emails. I do a lot of online shopping (using coupon codes, of course!) and the points add up rather quickly for me, if it is clothing, toys, etc., that I need I go to my points first to see if the company is there, then check for codes, free shipping are my favorites. And I also look for “double the points” specials. And I only shop through them if what I need is not cheaper at a store and add in the amounts of gas and time to see what is the better deal. I know it sounds like I do a lot but it really does not take anytime at all.
Is it worth it because you have to pay taxes on them right when you filing your taxes
I do not believe you have to pay taxes unless you make over a certain amount, but from what I remember when I asked a tax preparer, things like my points no. And if you do have to pay taxes, it has to be over 599 or something like that, i am not certain of the amount. My points are almost like getting rebates, and you do not have to pay taxes on rebates. The other survey sites I am not sure of.
I believe you have to earn a minimum of $600 at each company to have to pay taxes… I don’t make that much. :)
The one I love and get the most $$$ from is synovate. I also use Epoll. I earn about $100 or more a year from synovate and epoll combined.
I use a few survey sites….here are my faves so far…..
Toluna- since Dec.29, I have 182,000 points, which is $60. I have 7 survey points pending including one for 6,000, one for 12,000 and one for 5,000. I am expecting to be at $80 within the month. I also like it because you can make points even without doing surveys.
Opinion Outpost- I joined this survey site on Oct.29 (completely by accidnet that the dates were the same in Oct. and Dec.) I get probably 3-4 surveys a week and so far have accumulated $64.90.
MySurvey- I have been a member of this survey site since Oct. but this year it joined up with Lightspeed Survey so my points from Lightspeed were transferred over to MySurvey. I like MySurvey because I get 5-6 survey opportunities a week and I get points even if I don’t qualify for a particular survey. So far I have accumulated 5225 points through MySurvey and that is equal to $40…I need to reach 6600 to get to $60. I assume in the next month I will be there. 2200 points= $20.
MyView- This survey site I joined in Oct. You get 125 points just for answering the qualifying questions. If you complete a survey you get anywhere from 350-2400 depending on the length of the survey. So far I have 51,550 points. They did have Visa Gift Cards in various amounts of money. The least being 35,000 for $25, 66,000 for $50, 99,000 for $75, and 133,000 for $100. This week though I am very disappointed because the $25 and $50 giftcards have disappeared. So now I am trying to get to the 99,000 for $75 gc.
OnlyCash Surveys- This one is interesting because it gives you a list of surveys available and it tells you the length of the survey, the amount of credit you receive AND what percentage you are likely to qualify for the survey. I joined this one in Oct as well and have almost $50 in it.
I also use My Points, but dont seem to ever qualify for surveys. But between the shopping and emails I have 4477 points. I needed 4400 for a $25 PayPal.
Swagbucks I use too! Joined on Dec 29, and have 2419 bucks so far. I do the daily poll, the NOSO click through, and the trusted surveys every day.
I also do any codes that I might actually solve or get, watch some videos here and there, and lastly signing up for stuff…email newsletters, FB stuff (like liking a page) or playing a game occasionally.
These are my faves that I use the most. I also use…
RewardPort
Survey Spot
E-Poll
E-Rewards
Ispos Isay
SendEarnings (mostly emails)
These are the ones I use regularly. I have tried Survey Savvy, Survey Head, and Mindfield. I find I just don’t qualify for those surveys enough. So I decided to concentrate on the ones that do. I need $1 more in Survey Scout and I will cash out of that and unsubscribe as well. You need $10 to cash out and since Oct I have made $9. That is a whole lot different than the $20-$60 I have made elsewhere.
I think the thing is we all qualify for different surveys, so which site works for you and which works well for me might be different.
I also have not cashed in yet on any of these so I can’t comment as far as that goes. But a lot of my sites are ones on Kristins list, so I am confident in them.
What is your secret with Sunshine rewards? I signed up awhile back but got frustrated very quickly because it would always say I didn’t qualify when I would try to take the surveys.
I wish I knew too! I find that site so frustrating. I never qualify and it seems to take forever just to find that out. I only do the scratch card thing everyday. I have almost $6.00 now, whoo hoo.
LOL it took me over a year to earn that much! I don’t really have any secret. ;)
My favorite is Opion Outpost, I get several survyes, and cash out once between Oct and Dec. My least favorite is Valued Opinions, get alot of notices that a survey is available, but then never qualify for it, also it seems is you to try for qualify for another survey they found it takes a long process. Have only earned one dollor since singing up for it in Dec.
I like Ispos I say & Survey Head, I seem to qualify for lot of surveys even though they don’t pay out as much in value.
My top three favorites are Survey Spot, Opinion Outpost and Ipsos. I made almost $100 on Survey Spot and Opinion Outpost in just a few months. I like Ipsos because I get a few points even if I don’t qualify for the survey (plus, I’ll admit to liking the Poll Predictor game). I dropped out of E Poll and Surveyhead. After a year on both of those I didn’t even earn enough for the minimum reward. Not worth my time.
I would be careful with SayNation also. I cashed out my points for a gift card to use at Christmas. It stated in the rules that the card would arrive in 6-8 weeks, so I gave it 12, just to be on the safe side. The card never showed. The issue was resolved but only after 3 months of me sending more than 12 emails trying to get them to follow through. Way too much effort.
i have been interested inthese sites. Really looking forward to hearing what your top 5 are!
My favorite is PineCone. I get $3 a survey, and sometimes I get to sample new products and give my opinion.
I earned a 50.00 gift card from Lowe’s on My Points, and have almost collected enough points for another one. I will count this toward Disney. I am going to try some of the others you list.
That’s awesome! :)
