Getting Started Couponing: Check for Senior Citizen Days

Did you know that a lot of grocery stores have a Senior Citizen day where senior citizens can get a discount on their entire grocery purchase? Some stores the age is as low as 55! And it’s not limited to grocery stores either. I know our local thrift store offers 10% off on Mondays to Senior citizens.

Kroger offers 10% off your total purchase on the first Wednesday of the month in select stores to Seniors 60 and older (you know how Kroger likes to vary their policy region to region)

Publix offers 5% off to seniors 60 years and older every Wednesday. This is only in select markets so make sure you call first!

Be sure to check at your local stores to find out if they offer a discount to seniors. And if they do, maybe you can help your parents or grandparents with their shopping on that day.

If you are new to Couponing, you might want to take a moment to read more in my Getting Started Couponing series.

Pathmark just started doing this; 15% off for persons 55 & older on Mondays. You have to use a coupon that is in their ad to get the discount.
