I know as a new couponer that it can be frustrating trying to read a blog and not know what all the abbreviations mean. I actually keep an abbreviation key in the lower left hand corner of the blog, but I thought I would put together a list of abbreviations for you to reference as well…
- B1G1 = Buy one product and get one free (also called BOGO)
- exp = expiration date of the coupon
- MIR = Mail in rebate
- OOP = Out of pocket cost (meaning what you would pay after coupons)
- SS = Smart Source insert*The dates with abbreviations is the date it was in the Sunday paper.
- RP = Red Plum insert*The dates with abbreviations is the date it was in the Sunday paper.
- P&G = Proctor and Gamble insert*The dates with abbreviations is the date it was in the Sunday paper.
- ECB = Extra Care Bucks at CVS
- RR = Register Rewards at Walgreens
- SCR = Single Check Rebate at Rite Aid
- WYB = When you buy
So if you see a deal written like this:
Use $1/1 from 4/3 RP, you know it means that the coupon was found in the April 3rd Red Plum insert from the Sunday paper.

Since you’re in the subject of abbreviations, I have a silly question. What does DH mean? I see it a lot in blogs and have no idea!
DH=Darling husband
Dear Husband. DD would be Dear Daughter and so on. :)
DH for me means Disney Husband!
