If you are planning on taking more than one trip a year, you might want to Buy A Walt Disney World Annual Pass To Save On Tickets For Disney Theme Parks. This is also a great money saving idea if you are able to separate your trips by 51 weeks.
Walt Disney World sells 2 different type of passes (not including Florida resident):
The Platinum Annual Pass
$894 + tax for adults and children age 3+/ $749 FL resident
- Unlimited Admission 365 days a year to the 4 major parks
- Same Day admission to all 4 theme parks (means you can hop park to park)
- FREEÂ parking
- Additional discounts (such as resort and merchandise), information and privileges for being a passholder
- Memory Maker included (a $169 value)
The Platinum Plus Annual Pass
$994 + tax for adults and children age 3+/ $849 FL resident
- Same benefits as the Platinum Annual Pass Holder
- Unlimited Access to Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course (green fees only), Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex (days of operation depend on event schedule)
If you decide to upgrade to an Annual Pass at the end of your current trip (just make sure you have 1 unused day on your ticket), you will pay the difference between the ticket window price of your used tickets and the cost of the annual pass. So if you had a 7 day ticket with Park Hopper, you would have a credit of approximately $370 towards the cost of your Annual Pass.
If you are planning on just buying tickets for your Walt Disney World trip, make sure you don’t buy more days than you can use.

My teenage daughter will be coming with me in April 2017, but not in Oct. Can I still do an annual pass just for me? Thank you
christina says
what about the premier pass? not the premium, but the premier. do you have any reccommendations on that one? my mom and i are getting this one b/c we live in CA and that way we can use it in WDW and then use it when we get back to CA at DL/DCA since we only live 30min away from DL.

Is it worth us buying an annual pass if our trip will be longer than 10 days?
Kristin from Couponing to Disney says
Only if you think you’ll make it back before the annual pass expires. A 10 day ticket is around $300 and a 1 day ticket is $80. That’s $380 verses $550 for an annual pass.
Kelli says
Do you think its better to get the AP at $648 over a 10 day PH @ $404 from Undercover tourist? It seems you could make up the extra $244 in resort, food and merchandise discounts? Or should I stay off site and not worry about the resort AP discount? This is my current dilema. Any adivce from the pros is appreciated. PS. we would be flying and if off site would have to rent a car.

Can you use the annual pass for special events like Mickey’s not so scary hallooween?
Kristin from Couponing to Disney says
No. :(

We let our annual passes go this year :( We moved to Cape Coral, which is three hours away from Disney. When we were in St. Petersburg, we went about once a month because it was only an hour and a half. Now we are only going two or three times a year. I am waiting until our next trip, and I will buy a seasonal pass. We don’t go in the summer anyway because it to WAY too hot!!! But it will be a bugger to have to start paying for parking.

We’ll be getting one next May, as we’re getting married there, and part of the wedding package price is two annual passes :)

We had annual passes a year ago and we loved it. We live in Houston, but we made 3 short trips to WDW while we had our passes. (We also have Wyndham timeshare points so we were able to stay for free when we’d go — makes it alot cheaper!) We figured that as long as we used it 10 days that it would even out with regular park hopper passes. And the free parking made it even better (since we weren’t on Disney owned property) because we could take our daughter back to the room for naps.

We are annual passholders- and florida residents. Check your employer. They may offer discounts with the passes. My husband’s employer offerred a discount back in January so we bought our passes and got almost 40% off!
Tonya says
Just bought mine last month and am so excited. FL residents passes are cheaper and they offer a payment plan.
laurie says
we bought them during our trip in march since we knew we were coming back in september for 12 days with extended family…….is refreshing to know when planning the bigger trip that we can park hop without paying a special fee for that…plus we get discounts on shopping and food – am trying to put a new england winter escape together for january so waiting for the annual pass discounts to come out
Kimberly says
This is our first year with Annual Passes. Looking forward to using them as much as possible!!
Leslie says
Hmmm… wonder if I could convince my husband that we should do this and then we HAVE to go at least once a year… Does anyone know if the Regular or Premium pass get you discounts for Disneyland and/or Disney Cruises in addition to WDW?
Nancy says
If you upgrade from any multi-day ticket, the annual pass will be backdated to your first day of use, so if you are planning a vacation for the next year, make sure the entire 2nd trip will be completed before the first anniversary of the first trip.
There is also a super duper pass (was $700 before the last price increase) that is good at WDW and Disneyland. Why not pay the extra $9 and go for Gold Status! come to California and visit the original.
Jenny says
I just checked and that pass is $1440!!! So more than double the $700 price you mentioned unless there is o another option for both parks.
Angie says
We get an AP and go for 2 weeks end of May then the following year 2 weeks the beginning of May we actually save more than the free dining deal we go for about $4500 the first year and $3000 the second we stay at a moderate and get regular dining plan! Best way to do it!

My husband and I live an hour away and go on average every other weekend. It’s awesome. We can relax so much more, because we are just “home” when we are there and don’t have to rush everything into a day or two. We can spend entire visits just hanging out in a rocking chair on TS Island. But I do miss the excitement of Disney being a special, once a year type trip.
Cheyenne says
I want to move to Florida so I can spend more time at Disney World. I wonder if I could convince my husband.
Kristin of Couponing to Disney says
Wouldn’t that be awesome!? :)
Starla says
Lucky you, Amy! Would love to get passes, but we are saving for our 20 year anniversary next year for a trip to Maui. Give the Mouse a hug from us here in Ga until we go again.
Sara Harper says
We have an annual pass. We are DVC members and got a discount on top of these prices. Best money spent, EVER!!!
Amy Reed says
We have an annual pass and I love it! But we are Florida residents so the prices are cheaper for the pass. :)
