Jennifer found these spots in a parking lot.

Dawn’s sister snapped this cousin picture and the baby had turned into a Mickey!

Did you know that there are over 800 Hidden Mickeys at Disney World? And to bring that magic home, I challenge you to find a Hidden Mickey in your everyday life. Be sure to take a picture and email it to me!

It seems that people are always looking for the best Illuminations viewing spot and invariably , most seem to end up between the Friendship Docks on the Future World side of World Showcase Lagoon. They do this to avoid the crowd and the rush to the exit but by viewing from this spot they become part of both.

Over the years I have found that unless you have a prime dinner reservation at the Rose and Crown and want to take a chance on an outside table (even if you don’t they will allow you to stand outside during the show) you should look elsewhere. Our favorite spot is somewhere around the Italy Pavilion depending on wind direction (extremely important). Normally the crowds are non existent in this area and you can get right up to the fence for an unobstructed view. Be sure to look around for speakers, if you are too close the music is quite loud. Further, there are no islands in the water in this area to obstruct the view.

After the show enjoy a leisurely stroll around an almost deserted World Showcase to either the parking lot/bus area or the International Gateway if you are staying in the Boardwalk area. The people who stood opposite you on the other side of the lagoon to avoid the crowd (themselves) will be gone and you will have a very short wait for transportation. Enjoy the show!!!

Saving money….. now there’s a topic we all love. Most of you are reading my blog because you want to save more money. We save at the grocery store, we save at the drug store, but there are lots of ways we could be saving and stretching our dollar and Couponing to Disney……

These tips come from Saving Toward A Better Life

I hate wasting trash bags – they are SO expensive!  Here’s how I avoid buying little garbage bags and not use too many of the larger ones:

  • Use plastic shopping bags as garbage bags in smaller trash cans.  It recycles the shopping bags and saves you from purchasing rolls of small bags.
  • Use plastic shopping bags as dirty diaper bags.  Or for cleaning up after the dog or cleaning out the cat litter box.  Again, saves on purchasing specialty bags for this purpose.
  • Don’t take out the trash in a partially empty bag!  That’s wasted space.  If the garbage must go out (because, hey, sometimes it needs to) I will find something to put in.  I’ll empty smaller trash cans into it or find something in the fridge that needs to be thrown out.  I won’t let a garbage bag leave this house if it’s got extra space in it!  I’ll find something that needs to be thrown out!
  • Don’t just throw away the empty boxes when you get a large pacakge.  Use it for trash until it’s full.  Go around the house filling it with newspapers, magazines, smaller boxes or anything else that needs to be thrown out.  (This is also good for the cleaning out process!  Gives me a reason to toss things!)

Do you have a money saving tip you’d love to see featured on Couponing to Disney? Be sure to email it to me!

Wanna learn how to save even more money? Be sure to read through all the Let’s Save Some Money posts. Keep in mind that not every tip will apply to your family and something that won’t save you a dime might save another family a dollar so no insulting the tips. You are, however, welcome to email me one at any time!

If I was only allowed to do one survey company, I would choose My Survey. They are the most user friendly survey company out there. It’s easy to qualify for surveys and once you are in, you are in. You don’t have to worry about messing up an answer and getting kicked out with My Survey. I consider them stress free.

Plus you can add more than one person to your account. My husband is also registered on my account and we get survey offers that are just for him. Twice  he has gotten 30 minute surveys and received $7 for each one!

Their surveys are very easy and once you reach 1,100 points you can get $10 via PayPal. Lately I have been getting 2-3 surveys a day!

This is one of the many ways you can add cash to your fund. Be sure to see all the ways to earn extra cash. Go here to read to the Getting Started “Couponing to Disney” page.

Applications will be accepted for the Disney Mom’s Panel between September 12th and September 16th. They are only accepting 20,000 applicants. I would make sure to apply on the first day to ensure you are within the 20,000 range.

As a member of the Mickey Moms Club, you are most likely someone with a passion for “all things Walt Disney World®”! Well, it’s that time of year when Mickey is on the look-out for the best, the mousiest, and the most pixie-dusted vacation planners the world has ever seen to join the Walt Disney World Moms Panel. Launched in January 2008, the Moms Panel website is an online forum led by real, park-savvy parents who assist other guests with the vacation-planning process. The site became an instant success that has tripled in the number of questions answered and thus tripled the number of panelists since its inception.

Disney is looking for new people to become members of the 2012 Moms Panel. In September, we will be taking applications for the panel. Once the new panelists are chosen, they will travel to Walt Disney World® Resort in December for training. The 2012 panelists will begin answering vacation-planning questions in January. If chosen, you not only could receive a Walt Disney World ®Resort vacation for you and three other guests and/or a monetary gift card depending on their term- but, even cooler than that, you also could be helping families across the nation plan their best Disney trip ever!

Visit the Walt Disney World Moms Panel website where applications will be taken from 9 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time on September 12, 2011, through 11:59 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time September 16, 2011, or when we have reached 20,000 applicants, whichever comes first. You just might be sharing your love of Disney Parks with the world!

Who plans to apply?

(Thanks Karen!)
