Getting Started Couponing: How much product do I need to last my family a year?

in Getting Started Couponing

If you are working on building your stockpile, it’s important to know how often you use a product. The absolute easiest way to figure this out is to write the date on the item when you first open it. When you have finished that item, record the date you opened it verses the date you threw it away. Then divide a year by that time and you’ll know how many you need to last you a year.

Here’s an example:

If I open a tube of toothpaste on August 1st and finish with it on August 22nd, I know a tube lasts me 3 weeks. If I want a one year supply of toothpaste, I just divide 52 by 3 and I learn that I need 18 tubes of toothpaste to last me a year.

If I wanted to figure out the 6 month supply, I would divide 26 by 3 and I learn that I need 9 tubes to last me 6 months.

If you are new to Couponing, you might want to take a moment to read more in my Getting Started Couponing series. It will teach you how to coupon like I do!
