“It’s the most wonderful time of the year…” If you think it’s not Christmas without snow, you’re in luck…there is Magic on the streets of MainStreet U.S.A. during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. (If you are looking for details on the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade check out this article.)
Once you enter the park and grab your map, and times guide you’re ready to hit the ground running!
Stop #1: Merchandise pit-stop. You don’t have time to shop till you drop, grab your special event merchandise and keep moving. If you have your eye on a T-shirt or sweatshirt and can’t find your size, ask a cast member; they will check the stockroom and you can be on your way. Don’t forget you can have your souvenirs/collectables shipped to your Disney resort, or to the front of the park where you can grab them on your way out…no need to carry!
Stop #2: Cookies and Cocoa. Need I say more? Check the map for your route to delicious holiday cookies and cocoa. The cookies are addicting and there are a LOT of cookie stations…pace yourselves!
Stop #3: Characters! Look for your favorite pals bundled up in Winter Wonderland wear. Characters are usually available at meet & greets from 7-11:30. Keep your eyes peeled for all your friends at the character dance parties throughout the park. Here is the Character Line Up for 2011 Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
Stop #4: The parade-This is one of my favorite parades, the floats are decadently decorated and there’s just something about those wooden soldiers! There are normally two parades and of course the later parade is always less crowded.
Stop #5: Holiday Wishes-There is usually only one fireworks show and the fireworks alone are worth the price of admission. Don’t miss it! They are best viewed from in front of the castle, and everyone will be trying to cram in, so get there early to get yourself a spot or spring for the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party.
Remember to keep your event map handy so you don’t miss any of the festivities and it might be a good idea to set phone alarms for the parade and fireworks so you don’t miss them!

We’re going to this on Dec. 4th. We had the opportunity to go to the taping of the parade on the 3rd. (we have a friend who is a cast member) but the tix she could get us did not include admission to the park and it’s a black out day. We’re only in FL for a long weekend, so we’re skipping the taping, getting into Disney for free on Sun (5 of us) and then buying tix for the Very Merry Christmas Sunday evening. Can’t wait.
Remember package pickup does not stay open for special events! It will close at 7 with the park! Resort delivery takes 2 days if you do it during special events!
