The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Walt Disney World is one of the funnest extra’s you can do if you have a little girl! The salon is normally noisy and crowded but each “Fairy Godmother” treat the girls as if they are the only ones there! It is a must do for us each time we visit Walt Disney World. In order to make that happen, I have had to come up with ways to do the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique on a Budget!
The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique offers three different packages to choose from.
- Coach Package includes hairstyling and shimmering makeup—starting at $49.95 USD plus tax.
- Crown Package includes hairstyling, shimmering makeup and nails—starting at $54.95 USD plus tax
- Castle Package includes the Crown Package plus the Imaging Package (one 6″ x 8″ and four 4″ x 6″ photos in a princess-themed photo holder) and complete costume of your choice with accessories—starting at $189.95 USD plus tax.
We ALWAYS choose the crown package! Not only do you get the hair, makeup and nail – there is a photopass photographer going around taking your daughters picture constantly! So if you have already ordered the photopass cd, like we do, there is no need to have extra prints of these when you have already paid for them on the photopass cd.
On top of choosing the Crown Package for our daughter, we always bring a princess dress from home! We normally make a trip to our local Disney Store before our vacation and pick up a dress of her choosing. This runs us normally less than $40.00 depending on which dress she chooses and if we get accessories. That is a lot cheaper than the dresses at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique! And guess what… they treat you no different if you bring your dress from home! Just tell the ladies up front and they will arrange for you to go into the fitting room and put it on just like the girls who bought the more expensive package! It really is great, Disney does a great job of accommodating people with all types of budgets! You certainly don’t have to bring a princess dress at all. One year my daughter just wore a special outfit we picked out for her instead! Etsy is a great place to look for custom outfits and they are reasonably priced! No matter what you choose for your child to wear, your Fairy Godmother will make a fuss over her!
I also like the crown package because of the goodie bag you recieve at the end of your daughters makeover. You will receive the makeup pallet used on your daughter, two bottles of nail polish, the rest of the face gems and a pretty sash! It is really fun to take this bag home and use it to play Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique with your child once your vacation is over!
There are several dresses and accessories for sale at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. They are never forced on you, in fact I have never even been asked if I would like to purchase anything other than my package! It is really great to not feel pressured into spending more money! Make sure you do save a little cash out to tip your Fairy Godmother! They do a great job with the girls and make it a lot of fun! You can put your tip in a special wishing well and make a wish, everything is an event at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique!
And here is a tip for moms too, at the end when they glitter up your daughter ask for them to do you too! They will sprinkle pixie dust on you and you can be glittered right along side of your child! It is a fun little extra I love to have done!
No matter which package you choose, you will certainly have a great time and with my tips you might save a little money too!

When we went last year we got the big package and they let my daughter pick 1 nail polish to get her nails done with and to take home. The year before she got to take both home!
I want to say you can buy the disney costume dresses super cheap at walmart in Orlando. Also if you plan ahead of time during Halloween they always sell the princess dresses as halloween costumes. Thats also a good time to pick one up.
We took our middle daughter (4) to BBB this past October. Purchased the crown package. She LOVED it! Two year old sis was in tow and a little sad she was too young. Fairygodmother next door grabbed her up put her hair in a couple of piggies. Put a sticker on her cheek and did her up with pixiedust for free!! So sweet and precious!! Made our day!
Any heads up for those of us with boys doing the Pirate Experience? This is our 1st trip in February and I made his rezzie but don’t know what to completely expect. Thanks!
My oldest daughter (9) did the pirate experience instead of BBB. She loved it! It is basically the same thing as the BBB except pirates instead of princesses. We were so impressed with the pirate experience that both daughters will be doing it next time instead of the BBB. The idea of the BBB was great but my daughter complained that her hair was pulled back too tightly and we had to take it down. Her hair had to be washed quite a few times in order to get all of the styling junk out of it. The pirate experience was more about being initiated as a pirate than all the makeup and hair. My daughter chose the empress package and she looked great. The makeup was beautiful yet simple. I saw other children with the full pirate makeup which looked great as well and it was not running. I think your son will have a great time at the pirate experience.
We did the Pirate Experience a couple of years ago. My son loved it! They make the entire experience (about an hour) very authentic — complete with a treasure hunt at the end! The only negative is that the make-up rubs off easily. I suppose it’s to be expected, but after paying $100+, I was a little disappointed in it being a BIG mess after a couple of hours. We were there in Oct. so it was really hot. Maybe Feb. won’t be bad and your son(s) won’t be rubbing their faces like my (then) 8 year old. Overall, we all had a blast, and my son still talks about it each trip.
We also pick the same package and bring a dress from home. Luckily I buy the dresses right before Halloween from the Disney store when they are super cheap because there is no way for them to ship it to you in time. I can usually get a deluxe dress for around $25. We did try to tip our godmother this year and were told that they can no longer accept tips but I would being the money just in case.
we let our daughter do the crown package every year.hubby & i did discuss letting her to the castle package if we happen to go for her birthday one year.
No offense to BBB, but we were there in March ’11 and discovered a better deal. The Harmony Barber Shop just to the right of Guest Services does an amazing updo for little girls complete with colored paint and pixie dust for $7.50. I had both of my girls (ages 8 & 10) done, and walked out for <$25 including tips. We got comments all day from others who had been to BBB asking where we had it done. You don't get your hair done in the castle by a fairy godmother, but if you are truly on a budget, this is the way to go. I have dozens of pictures of them with their 'do's in front of the castle and with the princesses.
Hello! A question for Cwilc please, about the GREAT tip she had on The Harmony Barber Shop. Did you just walk in? or do they take reservations beforehand? Thanks! I’m bringing my girls, ages 8 and 6, in February and this sounds like a great surprise for them!
Marcia from Wisconsin
I believe that they just started doing reservations. When we took all our boys in ’09 we just made sure we got there as soon as they opened. It was only a few dollars more for a cut than it was at home. YOungest even got his first haircut there and they gave him a free Mickeys ears and certificate. I want to say that we walked out of there for $60 plus tip for four boys cuts and hidden mickeys painted in thier hair. So worth the money. We decided to do this every time! They even do mens cuts and shaves (my dad did this!) Sometimes the characters that are outside by the fire station will come in, we had CHip and Dale come in and pretend to give hair cuts!
Thanks much Cindy!
Marcia
We brought our own dresses a few years ago when we took my two oldest daughters to BBB. We got deluxe dresses on sale from the Disney Store and they were WAY nicer than the ones in the boutique.
Thank you for posting this! We are actually going to be doing this in Feb. and going to be doing some of the things mentioned on here. I was only going to the lowest cost package, but now with the combination of the tips here and what I was going to do I can do the crown package! Thank you so much for this, makes me more excited!
We leave Friday for WDW- im really interested in the boys haircuts…I was debating taking my Lil guy to get a haircut before we leave but now I think I will have it do t there! What is the pirates thing? Do they cut hair there? Or just at the barber? He has a reservation to be transformed into a knight, not a pirate. Hmm..I guess I will be calling to see if he can get into the barber, I’m sure it’s short notice at this point.
The Pirates Leauge does not cut hair, but there is an AWESOME barber shop on Main Street in the MK where you can get a hair cut!
Hi fans! Do any of you know the age limit/requirement for BBB? I’ll have a 2 year old and a 1 year old.
Website says ages 3-12
We have done BBB three times, twice with the full package and once with a home-brought dress. The only gripe I have about bringing your dress from home is that they didn’t let us change into our home-brought dress in the actual BBB fitting room, they made us go out into the attached store and change over there. You lose a bit of the magic when you have to walk out and go around the corner to change. I think part of “feeling like a princess” is getting to go in their pretty dressing room to put your gown on. It’s a let down to have to walk out and go into the drab dressing room. It was still exciting for her though because I put her dress and accessories in a special garment bag so she didn’t know who she was going to be. When she unzipped the bag she was thrilled!
On the plus side we went to the same indoor photo station at Downtown Disney and had the same photo shoot as the full price gals. They use the same pretty backdrops and props and they take just as much time. They even took a picture of her and I together. Those turned out to be my favorite pictures of the three times (she was Giselle). Their photo station at Downtown Disney is also a great place to go if you want a group family shot.
Plus Plus side – This was during December and Santa was set up outside taking pictures, I have the best picture of her in that beautiful white Giselle dress with Santa.
Im surprised by this. Every time we bring our own dress they let us go into the dressing room right in the boutique! They suggest it every time.
I don’t know, that time was about 4 years ago so maybe they changed the rules?
Thanks Kristin for this tip. I am definitely going to do this one. :)
If you are ever in World of Disney at Downtown Disney, you can always go to the BBB counter and get “sprinkles” there. My daughter ALWAYS does this (as we are there A LOT) They always say a little rhyme when doing to too, “Bibbidy, Bobbidy, Boo. May all your dreams come true” This is FREE and if you have a child who wants to go to the BBB and you don’t have the $$ this is a good way to slide by. ;)
i want to do this for my daughter soooooo bad!!!
We did the crown package and brought our own dress too. I was a little nervous because my daughter has Aspergers and sometimes hair is an issue for her, but she LOVED it. We went a year ago and she still uses the things out of her goodie bag to play BBB. She even told me that she wants to have a BBB birthday party next spring.
@Jennifer- we went to the Downtown Disney one and they let us change in the dressing rooms at the BBB. Maybe they were just really busy the day you went? We also went and used the photo station. I agree, it is a beautiful set up and we got some gorgeous shots of my daughter.
When we went last year our then 3 year old son did the Knight package at BBB and he loved it! He was adorable, they spiked his hair put different colors in it and made a mickey shape on the back of his head. I think he got more comments on how cute he was then his sister. They also gave him a shield and sword that he used for his halloween costume. We went prior to going to the fireworks one night both kids loved getting fancy for the show. The color stuff they used on my son can take a while to dry so know that there can’t be much touching of the hair right away and you can’t sit your head on something like a pillow or stroller till then. My daughter did the crown package with the multi color rocker like hair and she was so happy, we were able to get 2 days out of their hair (could have been ore if their hair was lighter the gel dries and is a bit more flaky looking on dark hair) It is a bit expensive expensive but they loved it!
Disney experience knocks out adults and teens.I am young adult who has always enjoyed the Bibbidi Bobbidi Crown package .Now I am being after all these years of getting the package it no longer available to teens or young adults.I enjoy the princess treatment same as an child but now they taking away the experience of being a princess because of someone’s age.You go to Disney to make your dreams comes true only to have them smashed by a new policy .I was treated Rudely by a Bibbidi Bobbidi staff member when I called to make an appointment and found not to be proper Disney customer service.
