Disney World is constantly updating and adding experiences to enhance a guests vacation. The year 2019 will be no different, with many exciting updates underway. Below are 5 Exciting Upcoming Experiences At Disney World.
1. NBA Experience
The NBA Experience will be coming Summer 2019 to Disney Springs, it replaces former Disney Quest. The building is inspired by modern architecture. At the NBA Experience guests can look forward to interactive games, competitions and immersive experiences. It will also host a new restaurant and gift shop – all themed around basketball. Opening Summer 2019 (confirmed).
2. Disney Skyliner System
The Disney Skyliner transportation system will connect certain Disney Parks (Epcot & Hollywood Studios) and select Disney Resorts as new mode of transportation. Ride with your favorite characters pictured on each gondola, characters to include: the Fab Five and more beloved Disney Movie Characters.
The hub of the Skyline System will be located at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, acting as a transfer station between gondola routes and will also feature a new restaurant. Expected opening in 2019 (not confirmed).
3. Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway
Believe it or not, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway will be Disney’s first attraction to feature Mickey Mouse himself, for a ride-through attraction. This attraction will feature an all new original song and a brand new cartoon short featuring Minnie & Mickey at a picnic. The engineer behind the ride, is none other than Goofy, putting guests into the movie screen, on an unpredictable journey, with Mickey Mouse and his friends. Disney named the technology for this attraction, 2 1/2-D, (as opposed to 3D), no 3D glasses are needed. Expected opening in 2019 (not confirmed).
4. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
This new land is slated to open in 2019. Disney has confirmed guests will see the following characters: BB-8, Chewbacca, members of the First Order and many more. Also, Rex (pilot) will take on the role of a DJ at the cantina. A cantina will serve guests blue milk. The Blue milk drink is inspired by Luke Skywalker in Star Wars IV: A New Hope. Also, shop at the outpost where guests can find unique souvenirs, including those of local artisans. Inspiration is taken from exotic marketplaces.
5. New Attractions at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Furthermore, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will host 2 new exciting attractions for guests. Disney Imagineers have built a fleet of X-wing Starfighters, these are full size and made of metal. Putting guests in a battle with First Order and the Resistance. This attraction does not have a name yet.
The other highlight attraction puts gusts in control of flying a Millennium Falcon. This attraction has an interesting storyline connection to the Cantina as well. Those guests who end up on Harkos’s list will be in for a surprise if they then go to the Cantina. This unique interactive opportunity sounds intriguing.
