The Check-In process for Disney World can actually be started at home. Learn how and when to begin, what information you will need and more for a smooth check-in.
Online Check-In
Disney makes it easy for guests to check in prior to the start of their Disney Vacation, with Online Check-in. Online Check-in can be completed on the My Disney Experience App or online. This can eliminate the need to go to the front desk. The Check-in process can be started up to 60 days before arrival date. Your room number will not be assigned at this time.
Once at the Resort, there is a separate line for Online Check-In Desk. Have a valid photo I.D. ready to present.
Information Needed
When you are ready to complete Online Check-In prior to arrival (60 days before), gather the following information:
- Credit Card on file
- Arrival & Departure Time
- Names of people if your party
- Home Address
- Mobile Phone Number
- Create a 4-digit pin (for charging privileges)
Room Requests
Do not wait until the last minute for room requests. Since as the date gets closer Disney has less availability for special requests. Therefore, it is a good idea to know any room requests at time of booking. Such as, ground floor room request, room near bus stop, etc. If you book online, call Disney with your request and reservation #. Another option is to fax your requests. Requests are never guaranteed.
Resort Room & Luggage Upon Arrival
Some guests may find upon arrival that their Resort room is not ready. If you find this is the case, complaining is not the route to go. Instead, if you are arriving at Disney World early (prior to 3pm) prepare for this incident by packing bathing suits in your carry-on luggage. This way if your room is not ready or your luggage has not yet arrived, you can relax by the pool while waiting.
If you did online check-in and provided your email & phone number you will receive an email/text when your room is ready! Also, bell services will hold your luggage/carry-on items while you are waiting. Then, start your vacation by heading to the parks or save your park ticket for a full day use and consider one of these, 4 first day arrival activities.
Relax
Your at Disney World! Relax, and enjoy your vacation even if your room isn’t ready or check-in does not go smoothly. Checking into a Disney resort is a privilege not everyone gets. At the end of the day, you will be resting comfortably in your resort no matter how the check-in process goes.
