Not everyone has a love for the Mouse (gasp). This can be challenging in a relationship when your spouse does not share your enthusiasm for a visit to Disney World. Below are 5 tips to consider when your Significant Other doesn’t share your love of Disney.
Resort
If staying on Disney property, try a moderate resort such as Port Orleans Riverside or French Quarter. The Disney touches here are tamer, as opposed to Value Resorts such as the All Stars where Disney touches are more prevalent. Another consideration is tour groups tend to stay at Value Resorts. A gorgeous Moderate Resort is a great way to persuade your spouse to stay at Disney.
Utilize Fastpass+ & Advanced Dining Reservations
One way to ensure your Disney World vacation runs smoothly is to minimize your time waiting in line. This also makes for a happy Significant Other. Book your Fastpass+ reservations 60 days out (Disney Resort Guests) and 30 days out (non-resort guests). Book your Advanced Dining Reservations 180 days out from your arrival date.
Relax
Use these 7 Tips to Have a Relaxing Disney Vacation to persuade your significant other that relaxing is in the plans! One tip being adding a water park day for a chance to lounge on the lazy river. Disney World has 2 water parks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Or, have a pool day at your Resort. Moderate resorts especially have smaller pools, besides the Main Pool, that are rarely crowded. There are many ways to have a Disney vacation and relax as well.
Be Flexible
Heading to Disney World with no plan makes for a disaster. However, so does over-planning. Have plans while remaining flexible and your vacation will run smoothly. Take in consideration things your spouse wants to do as well, even if they are not part of your plan.
Other Area Attractions
Consider not spending all your time at Disney World. The Orlando area has many other vacation sights such as Universal Studios or Beaches near Disney World.
