Here are 5 Ways To Use The Space In A Disney Value Resort:
How about one of those over the door canvas shoe organizers, you can pick them up cheap at bedbath beyond w/ a coupon ( and they pack well/fold up)…hook it over bathroom door, and everyone gets a ‘row’ of at least 4 shoe pockets for their stuff ( lotions, shampoos, hats, watches, what not etc) there is never enough space when traveling with a family in those hotel rooms! – Suzanne
Since the “closet spaces” come with hangers…we bring some spare plastic shopping bags and we put the handles of the bags around the neck of the hanger and store our snacks, or toiletries or anything else we want to keep handy but not pack away. Plus they are up in the air and out of the way. We give each person a different store bag so we know what bag belongs to who. (IE the target bags are for mommy, best buy for daddy, Disney bags for junior.) Another twist on this is to use the reusable shopping bags because they fold nicely for travel and if you have had a great time shopping, you have an extra bag that you can use to carry your treasures home, on the plane. – Donna
We usually travel to Disney by car, we bring a small folding table and set it up right against the wall (where the connecting door is) We put our food, plates, napkins, etc. on this. We then put all our shoes under the table. We have the round table to sit and eat at. We also only use the drawers to put our underclothing, socks in. We leave the rest of our clothes in the suitcase and put on top of the rack. We usually have to iron anyway and this way we just grab the clothes we want out. I also bring heavy duty bags and throw our dirty clothes in, I put this under the clothes rack and it stays out of the way. – Jen
As far as space, we take full advantage of the hooks in the room with hanging bags. We also always give our son one drawer to himself for his toys and stuffed animals, that way he can easily pick them up, since the space is so small and the smallest thing makes it feel cluttered. As far as and ironing board, we have used that at other hotels kinda as a bedrail, probably not the safest thing, but it worked well for my son who typically didn’t roll of the bed anyway. I’m surprised that not all hotels have bedrails like Disney resorts do. Yet another thing that Disney does so well. – Cindy
I have a Disney shoe box that AC Moore sells. We put all our toiletries in and put it under the bed or under the sink. – Jennifer
I usually drive with my two kiddos. We take a laundry basket in the car for the food in the car. When we arrive in the room the food goes in the fridge ( I make sure to have one) and then the laundry basket becomes a place for dirty laundry. My kids and I also discovered that we had to pick up after ourselves EVERY day, otherwise our room got messy and then it wasn’t “pretty” The kids loved the “pretty” Mickey feel of the room. I like the iron board idea, we don’t iron while on vacation, so it would work for us. The over the door thing, would work great, I may try that this winter when we travel (no not to WDW–elsewhere) as a test run for our next WDW trip. – Jenny

We drove our family of 3. We used binder clips to attach fold flat mesh laundry bins from dollar tree to each other for a 3-4 bin storage. We put shoes in one, dirty clothes in 2, and usually toys or miscellaneous in the last bin. We didn’t bring much to play with as we were in the parks all day, and Disney was the toy.

We drive and keep a large garbage bag in the trunk of the car. Each morning when we leave we take our dirty clothes with us out to the car and put in garbage bag.

Along the line of the canvas shoe organizer, we use the canvas “sweater shelves” that either have a coat hanger at the top or some have a fabric put together with velcro. They hook on the closet rod, and each person has a shelf. Handy for toiletries and such since the clothes rod is next to the sink.

We did this on our last trip and it worked perfectly. Of course we used it for shoes but it kept everything organized so neatly. I might consider a 2nd for food storage.
