Wishes had a long run at Magic Kingdom as the nighttime spectacular, 14 years to be exact. Happily Ever After is the most recent, and current, nighttime spectacular at Magic Kingdom. 1. Opening Date
Disney fans were upset to say farewell to Wishes, however Happily Ever After did not disappoint. Happily Ever After debuted on May 12, 2017. With Cinderella’s Castle as the backdrop, Happily Ever After takes guests on a journey through favorite Disney moments in films. The show uses state of the art projection, special effects, lasers, fireworks and songs to pull at the heart strings of Disney guests.
2. History Made
Disney knew they had to make the follow up to Wishes special. Therefore, Happily Ever After uses the most special effects and fireworks to date, more than any other nighttime spectacular in history at Magic Kingdom. Wishes lasted approximately 15 minutes, while Happily Ever After lasts for 18 minutes. Meaning guests today are beholding history.
3. Opening Lines
The show opens with a narrator speaking, ” Each of us has a dream – our heart’s desire. It calls to us and helps us discover who we’re meant to be. If we look inside, we can unlock the magic of our hearts”. Watch as your favorite characters find the courage to pursue their dreams, and hopefully inspire watchers to do the same.
4. Find Your Spot
Guests will line Main St USA for the perfect spot to view Happily Ever After. However, there are lesser known viewing areas perfect to watch from. Consider one of these 13 Places To Watch Happily Ever After in Walt Disney World. This includes viewing areas that pipe in the show music!
5. Beloved Characters
Highlighted Disney Characters include classics such as The Little Mermaid and The Lion King. Plus, newer favorites such as Big Hero Six and Moana. Is your favorite character in the show?
6. Fireworks Dessert Parties
Guests have 3 options for Fireworks Dessert Parties: Fireworks Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing, Fireworks Dessert Party with Seated Terrace Viewing or the After Fireworks Dessert Party located at the Tomorrowland Terrace. Each give VIP views and delicious all you care to eat desserts!
7. Tinker Bell
Towards the end of the nighttime spectacular, Tinker Bell will fly overhead! For guests wanting a good view of this, find a spot under the zip line, such as on the bridge to Tomorrowland.
8. Made With Magic
For an extra touch of Disney magic, consider a Made with Magic souvenir. These items will light up coordinating with the fireworks spectacular! Guests can also use their Made with Magic items during Fantasmic! at Hollywood Studios.
9. Weather Permitting
Unfortunately, this show will be cancelled due to inclement weather. Guests can check with their My Disney Experience app for show time.
