In recent years, having a “Baby Moon” has become popular. A baby moon is a last getaway a couple takes before their baby is born. It is most likely the last vacation you will take as 2. From relaxing Spa Days to romantic dinners, Disney World has you covered. Here are 9 reasons why Disney World is the perfect Baby Moon destination.
1. Photo Announcement
Consider using Disney World as your back drop to announce a pregnancy or do a gender reveal. I have seen some gorgeous gender reveal Disney photos using a Mickey Balloon with appropriate color of either pink or blue, in front of Cinderella’s Castle. Likewise with child sized Mickey or Minnie ears, have them personalized in The Chapeau at Magic Kingdom. Consider a side or back view of the Castle for less crowds. Or use the PhotoPass Photographers on Main St USA, or choose another popular Disney icon.
2. Celebration Button
Celebration buttons are a fun free souvenir for Walt Disney World guests. You can celebrate a birthday and more with these. Choose the “I’m celebrating ___ (fill in the blank)”, and write in “baby moon”! Learn where to find celebration buttons.
3. Pamper Yourself
You are growing another human, this is a tiring and incredible experience. Get some well deserved relaxation with a Spa day. Did you know there are 9 Spas on Disney property? Read more about Disney Spas and Health Centers.
4. Memory Maker
Buy Memory Maker for your vacation and all PhotoPass pictures are included, such as ride photos and Character meet & greets. Plus, visit the PhotoPass Studio in Disney Springs for a baby moon photo shoot. No appointments are required and they have amazing backdrops to choose from, including Disney themed of course. Capture great pregnancy photos at Disney, even if the weather isn’t cooperating.
5. Take It Slow
Plan to take in more shows, which allow for time sitting and resting. Consider: 7 Best Live Stage Shows at Disney World. Do not worry about riding the attractions as much. Good news is many of the classic attractions such as it’s a small world are safe to ride while pregnant and Magic Kingdom has many (always confirm with your doctor prior to traveling during pregnancy). Look for attractions that have no height limit, also filter attractions on the My Disney Experience App. Additionally, Character Meet & Greets are a fun way to spend time at Disney World. Collect signatures for your little one, and show off your bump in the photos. Take it slow, there is plenty to see and do besides major thrill attractions. Take breaks when you need it and drink plenty of water.
6. Romantic Dinner Date
California Grill is found at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Meaning no park ticket is needed to enjoy, plus see the fireworks show from Magic Kingdom in distance, restaurant pipes in music during show. Price ranges from $35-$59.99 per adult.
Find Tony’s Town Square Restaurant on Main St USA at Magic Kingdom. This elegant Italian restaurant is based on Disney’s Lady and the Tramp. Share a spaghetti & meatballs and relive the first kiss scene from the 1955 animated classic.
The San Angel Inn Restaurante has beautiful ambiance sure to spark romance. Find this restaurant in the Mexican Pavilion of Epcot’s World Showcase, with views of Mayan ruins.
7. Food
In addition to Romantic Dinners, Disney World is home to amazing breakfast, lunch, snack and beverage options. Disney World is a great place to be and give into a craving or two. Spend some time checking out different food options at Disney World.
8. Swimming
Disney World Resorts have amazing pools, and swimming is great exercise. For pregnant woman, swimming can relieve pressure and be very relaxing. Plus, all Disney Resort pools are heated for comfort. Some Resorts even have several pools on site, most often only the main pool is busy, seek out a side pool for a quiet swim. Children’s games and activities led by lifeguards only take place at the main pool.
9. Souvenir
Buy something special for your little bundle of joy to be. From stuffed animals they can love as they grow, to baby apparel or a special keepsake. Think ahead and buy their first Halloween costume from Disney World, or have a Christmas Ornament personalized at Days of Christmas. There are many options for baby souvenirs from Disney World.
