It is very simple to use rebates to “Coupon to Disney“. Just pay for the items needed for the rebate out of your weekly budget. When the check arrives, deposit it into your fund.
Tips on how to use rebates:
- Save every single receipt. I got a coupon/check organizer in the dollar spot at Target and use it to organize my receipts. You never know when you might need a receipt for a rebate.
- If you purchase an item for a rebate, take the UPC off of it before you put it up in your cabinet. If you can’t remove the UPC without ruining the package, write on it with a permanent marker so you don’t accidentally toss the UPC when you go to use the product.
- Most rebates require the original receipt. If you are purchasing 2 items that will be submitted for separate rebates, make sure you purchase them in separate transactions so you will have a receipt for both items! (Some stores will print a duplicate receipt for rebates. Ask your store and see if they do it.)
- If you forget to pay for the item separately, you could take it with your receipt back to the store and explain to them what you did. They might let you return and rebuy the product so that you will have the separate receipt. It never hurts to ask.
