If you enjoy long walks down the aisles of gorgeousness while sipping on tea or coffee this hack is for you! Two of the things I love most in the whole wide world, besides my family of course, is Starbucks and saving money. When those 2 things come together its pure magic! Did you know that you can get free refills on coffee or tea for the duration of your stay at Starbuck’s with purchase of either beverage? That means you can get to Starbucks at 8 AM order a tall coffee. Spend a few hours or even the whole day sipping coffee for only $2.15. As long as you don’t leave the store you can get free refills on the coffee. There is no limit to how many refills you can get.
To save even more money at Starbucks check out our money saving tips.
This also applies to some Starbucks’s inside Target. Technically it should work at all of them. Some Starbuck’s inside Target’s insist that is only accurate while in the cafe area. Other Targets say as long as you don’t leave the Target store you can get refills. My Target is fine with it as long as I don’t leave the store. That makes for hours of blissful window shopping the aisles while sipping on my favorite coffee or tea!

This time of the year gets me craving warm cups of goodness! You know the kind found at your local Starbucks that often come with a $5.00 or more price tag. Which can easily become a very expensive habit. The way that I curb the desire to stop by Starbucks a few times a week is by re-creating my favorite drinks at home. As a former Barista its very easy for me to make my own drinks at home. I know, I am not alone with the Starbucks cravings. In an effort to help all of us grow our Disney funds. I am going to share with you all the most popular drink recipes technically copy cat versions. Most of the ingredients Starbucks uses are made exclusively for use in their stores. For that reason we have to get creative! My copycat versions are really close to the real thing. Before long you will forget all about Starbucks while adding money back into your Disney funds!
First up is a Copycat Starbucks Cafe Mocha! This drink is my first true love. It is the first coffee drink I discovered I liked. It is also a base recipe for others we will be learning over the next few weeks. All you need is 4 simple ingredients we all have on hand or can easily purchase from our local grocery stores.
Ingredients:
1 Hot Chocolate packet
Strong coffee
Milk
Whipped Cream for topping
Microwave 1/2 cup to 3/4 a cup of milk until warm in a separate container. I like to use my 1 cup Pyrex glass measuring cup. The amount you need will depend on how big your mug is. Add the hot chocolate packet into your mug you will be making your drink in. If you have a Keruig machine use a Kcup on the smallest beverage size setting. For those of you that brew coffee in a coffee pot. You want to make it really strong. The stronger the better. Brew the coffee into the mug with hot chocolate packet. Or if using a coffee pot add about 1/4 – 1/2 cup of coffee into the mug. Stir until the hot chocolate is mixed in. Pour the warm milk over the coffee chocolate mixture stir well, top with whipped cream, and enjoy!

The NEW Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew is my B.F.F.! It is by far the best thing Starbucks has come out with since Frappucino’s. Starbucks is a special treat for me. Normally enjoyed on vacations or a few times a month. I am embarrassed to admit last week I went 3 times just for Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. Not only does each drink cost around $5.00. I live in boonies, it takes me 25 minutes to drive to Starbucks. That means a waste of gas.
If you are going to go to Starbucks you might as well save some money in the process! Make sure you read our top 4 savings tips for Starbucks.
I knew I had to figure out how to make a copycat version. That began my quest! It took me about 4 tries to get it right. At first it was to much pumpkin, then to sweet, then the cold brew wasn’t right, and finally 4th try was a charm. You can adjust the recipe to make smaller quantities of the Pumpkin Cream. I really enjoy the pumpkin cream and order mine with extra. That is why I made a massive amount just to have in the fridge!
You really want to invest in the Starbucks Cold Brew packets. I tried making my own, and another brand. Its just not the same taste. You can buy them on Amazon. They actually are cheaper on Amazon than Walmart. I know, because I bought it at Walmart only to come home check Amazon and feel like a fool for not saving money via Amazon. If you are like me and do subscribe and save. That is the way to go you save over $2.00 per box by doing it this way. If you have 5 subscriptions you save an extra 15% monthly. That is why you WANT to do deals like the $0.79 hot sauce. That $0.79 will save you tons of money month after month by getting you to your 5 items needed.
For the Pumpkin Cream you only need 5 ingredients. You add all the ingredients to a mixing bowl, beat on medium speed for 5-7 minutes. You can sub 2 Teaspoons pumpkin pie spice or pie spice instead of using the cinnamon and nutmeg if you have it on hand. The recipe below makes about 2 cups.
1 Cup Heavy Whipping Cream
4 Tablespoons canned pumpkin
1 1/2 Teaspoons Cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoons Nutmeg
3 Tablespoons of Vanilla Syrup
Sugar Free Version
1 Cup Heavy Whipping Cream
4 Tablespoons canned pumpkin
1 1/2 Teaspoons Cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoons Nutmeg
1 Tablespoon Vanilla extract
1 and 1/2 Tablespoons Stevia or other sugar free substitute
For the first few minutes it will be a thin liquid. If you are like me, you will think how is this going to work? Stay the course keep on beating it. You want it to be thick and frothy.
The cream will double in size. Basically you are making thin whipped cream. When you dip a spoon in and the back of it stays coated that is a good indicator you are done mixing. Store in a reusable container in the fridge.
For the cold brew you are going to follow the instructions on the box. You will need to do this the night before. It needs to sit for a while in the fridge before it ready.
When it comes to assembling the drink. First you put 2 teaspoons vanilla syrup or 1 teaspoon Stevia for sugar free version. Then ice halfway up your cup.1/2 to 3/4 of the way cold brew depending on how much Pumpkin Cream you would like. Use a spoon to top it off with the Pumpkin Cream. Sprinkle a fine dusting of cinnamon and nutmeg or pie spice on the top. Enjoy your Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew!

I LOVE Starbucks just as much as the next girl! What I don’t love is that I can easily spend over $5.00 on a single drink. If I have my kids with me I can kiss a $20.00 bill goodbye. Ouch!
Did you know I worked at Starbucks for 4 years once upon a time? I am going to share some tips and tricks to save money at Starbucks. These are my top 4 savings hacks!
1). Ask for an extra cup with lid. Be prepared for the weird looks. If the side eye bothers you, just ask for a cup of water or ice. It’s really common for people to request a cup of water or ice. That is the safest way to get an extra cup and lid minus the side eye, though not all baristas will look at you strangely. Most are more then happy to give you a cup and lid! Starbucks is like Disney in that most employees are more than accommodating.
Why the extra cup? By far the best money saving hack I have is to split a Grande (medium) or a Venti (large) drink between people if you go with more than one person or kid. My kids love Frappuccinos, but there isn’t a kids size option. That means for a Tall (small) you going to pay $3.95 plus tax…ouch! If you order a Grande (medium) it is $4.75 plus tax. If you split a grande between 2 people or kids you are going to spend $2.37 per person, verses ordering a Tall for each person at $3.95 each. That is a savings of $3.15!
2). Don’t order Lattes. You can get almost the same exact taste by just ordering a Cafe Misto with whatever syrup you would like. A Cafe Misto is half coffee and half warmed milk of your choice. It’s also $1.00 less then a latte. You can add in any flavor of syrup you would like for an extra $0.50. If you prefer Iced Lattes you can replicate the taste by ordering an iced coffee with 1/2 the cup full of your choice of milk.
If you really like the taste of espresso or need the added boost of caffeine then order just espresso shots with warm milk of your choice. You can also order the espresso over ice with milk. When ordering ask for the amount of milk and sugar you would like in your shots. Remember, this is Starbucks- you can customize as much or little as you want!
3). Sign up for the Starbucks Rewards program! This is a MUST. You will earn points back on every purchase. Every dollar spent is worth 2 points. These points accumulate and are redeemable starting at just 25 points. You can either scan the app when you pay or use a Starbucks gift card that is registered to your account.
There is always some sort of promotion going on that earns you extra points for purchasing certain items. Usually the more you visit the more points you get during that promotion period. Each visit counts as each time you pay for a transaction and scan the code in the app or use the registered card to pay . Currently the promotion is earn 40 bonus stars when you order 2 Frappuccino’s or earn 80 bonus stars when you order 3 times. If you are strategic with earning, the points can be a gold mine of savings!
In addition to the bonus point earning offers, you can get free coffee and tea refills while in store during the same visit. Let’s say you buy a green tea. You sit down and read a book. An hour later you are realize you finished your tea and want another. You can then order a refill green tea and pay nothing for it. As long as you don’t leave the store you can get refills on hot brewed coffee and tea.
With the app you will also earn a free treat on your birthday. That treat can be a handcrafted drink, food item, or ready to drink bottled item.
4). Buy discounted gift cards from Raise! You can often find discounted Starbucks gift cards for up to 10% or more off. After you buy the discounted gift cards from Raise, you can add funds from one Starbucks card to another. I have a Starbucks card I have had for years linked to my Starbucks rewards. Every time I buy or am gifted a Starbucks gift card I move the funds from that card to my registered card on Starbucks website. It is a very simple process!
(Thanks, Brandy)

If you have been a part of the Savears group long enough, you will hear Swagbucks mentioned. Many of us use Swagbucks earnings to save for a Disney vacation and more!
First, sign join Swagbucks (it’s free). Then read, these 8 tips to getting started with Swagbucks! Including, how to use Swagbucks to pay for a Disney vacation. When starting out, and using these tips, I suggest using a computer and starting in desktop view versus doing Swagbucks on the app right away.
After joining Swagbucks, the first thing I would attempt is your daily to-do-list. This will give you a good feel for different activities Swagbucks offers. Select offers on your to-do-list will earn you Swagbucks (sb). Complete items on your daily to-do-list to earn bonus sb!
Earn an easy 1sb each day by participating in the daily poll. Cast your vote and earn 1sb. This is a To-Do-List item.
Earn cash back in the form of sb on grocery and household goods with Magic Receipts. Redeem your receipt under the Shop tab, then Magic Receipts. Simply upload your receipt with your qualifying offer at a participating store and earn instant sb! This is one of my favorite ways to earn because credit is awarded instantly. Earn as low as 2sb for items such as oranges, bread, limes, carrots etc., and up to hundreds of sb or more on cleaning products, candy bars etc. Offers do update, so check often. Adding a Magic Receipt offer & Uploading a Magic Receipt offer are both To-Do-List items depending on the day.
Gold surveys can be found under your answer tab. Complete surveys and earn the sb attached. Surveys will vary in length and sb award. Always be truthful when you answer the surveys and take your time. Swagbucks looks for consistency and those who are not breezing through surveys. This is a To-Do-List item, attempt a survey and complete a survey. Do note, if you complete a survey, it checks both items off the list. Therefore, if you are lucky to get a survey completion on your first attempt you will have already checked off 2 items. Up to 5 gold surveys, earn 1sb per disqualification.
Aim to reach at least your first goal of the day. To find your goals, hover over Daily Goals at top of page, on desktop view. You will see 2 goals, your first goal and second goal. Each have a bonus SB attached to them when you achieve it. Reach at least your first goal daily to earn streaks (7 day, 14 day, 21 day, monthly) for additional bonus SB!
When you search through Swagbucks, a special Collector’s Bill can pop up. During promos it will be a colorful artwork, like the examples above, you can win searches during non-promos as well. When a search win comes up, enter the captcha to collect your points.
– Swagbucks Facebook page often puts up links to help you search and get a win
– Check the Swagbucks Facebook page and save these links to your FB Saved
– I have 4 saved links that work well for me, keep saving and searching until you find yours
– Search first thing in the morning for your first search win (this is the easiest for me to get)
– The morning search win usually only takes 5-10 clicks
– Try searching again in the afternoon and again later in the evening
– 3 searches a day is the most I ever get
– During Collector Bill series, check for fresh links on Swagbucks FB page
– Be patient: today it took me 15-20 clicks to get a win!
