Disney World offers Resorts for different tastes and budgets. The 3 main categories of Disney World Resorts are Value, Moderate and Deluxe Resorts. For those who are thinking of staying at a Value Resort, read the biggest benefit of each to help you decide.
Art of Animation
Art of Animation is the newest Disney Value Resort, opened in 2012. Theming includes Disney & Pixar favorites: Cars, Finding Nemo, The Little Mermaid and the Lion King. The immense theming makes the grounds fun to explore. Another benefit are the spacious Family Suites offered for larger groups (sleep up to 6).
Biggest Benefit: For those who love to swim, this Resort offers 3 pools (as many do). However, the main pool is zero entry and is also the largest pool on Disney Property!
Pop Century Resort
Pop Century offers fun theming from fads of the 1950’s through the 90’s. Find larger than life Yo-Yo’s, Play Doh and more. Plus find 3 themed pools: Hippy Dippy Pool, Bowling Pool and a Computer Pool. This Resort offers many fun photo opportunities, take the time to explore the grounds when staying here.
Biggest Benefit: School and Sports groups do not stay here, they tend to stay at one of the All Stars, therefore avoid large groups by staying here. Plus, Pop Century does not share Resort busses.
All Star Movies, All Star Music & All Star Sports
The remaining 3 value Resorts known as the “All Stars”, composed of All Star Movies, All Star Music and All Star Sports. Due to their close proximity to each other, they do sometimes share busses (resulting in longer travel time). However, Disney has gotten better about this. Each is uniquely themed reflecting their names, Movies, Music & Sports. All Star Music has family suites that will sleep up to 6 (more expensive than regular rooms).
Biggest Benefit: These are the most cost effective Resorts on property to stay at (exception: The Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort). The reason many guests stay at one of the All Stars is because of the price tag. Even though these are less expensive than other on-site options, they still have fun theming and offer a nice play to rest at night. Plus, see the updated Rooms at Pop Century & All Star Movies.
