We are annual passholders and often decide to go to the park within 24 hours. I usually am able to book coveted FastPasses by playing what I call the “FastPass Game”.
To play this game, you must do it the night before your visit. Usually between 9 pm – 11 pm EST. People book their FastPasses in advance and often find themselves too tired to go to the parks to take advantage of them. They decide to skip the FastPass the night before and will cancel it. The key is to be refreshing the app when they cancel their FastPass so you can grab it!
If you pull up the My Disney Experience app on your phone and click to book a FastPass for the day of your visit, you’ll see a line that says “Morning, Afternoon, Evening”. If you touch that line, you can actually scroll over to 30 minute increment times starting with 9:00 AM.
Click on each 30 minutes for the day and check to see if a FastPass you want pops up. If you see it, grab it. If not, keep clicking on each 30 minutes and checking for the FastPass. Once you get through the day, go back and start over.
Continue doing this until you find the FastPasses you want or you get bored. It usually takes me about 20 minutes to score what I want and I listen to an audiobook while I am browsing.
I’ve been able to use this tactic to score FastPasses for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Big Thunder Mountain, Peter Pan, Frozen Ever After, Flight of Passage, Na’Vi River Journey, Toy Story Mania and many more!
This also works for dining reservations!
