I love hanging out on Couponing to Disney every week with you, answering questions about the Happiest Place on Earth! Walt Disney World is going to release their 2015 rates for booking on July 30th! This makes a lot of future Disney travelers excited! But what are the ins and outs of booking a trip to Walt Disney World? And is booking early to your advantage? Today, I’m going to share some frequently asked questions about booking your trip to Walt Disney World.
What is required to book my Disney resort reservation?
Walt Disney World resort package reservations need to be secured with a $200 deposit.
I want to travel in December of 2015. What is the benefit to booking my trip so far in advance?
Booking your trip well in advance has several benefits. First, your travel agent can be on the lookout for discounts that may apply to your dates and be prepared to apply them based on availability. Second, you can make payments on your trip, so it helps with your budget as well. Third, you get the dates and room category you are hoping for.
Can I make changes to my reservation after it is booked?
Absolutely! Disney Travel has such a generous change policy. You don’t incur any fees, until you are after your 45 days to arrival mark. Changing resorts, dates, adding tickets, and even upgrading your dining are easy!
Can I use Disney gift cards or my Disney Vacation Savings Account to make payments?
Yes! Disney gift cards, credit cards, and your Disney Vacation Savings Account, and Disney Reward Dollars from Disney Visa are all acceptable methods to pay for your trip. You can even use a combination of all three!
When is the ideal time to book a Disney trip?
Booking your trip about 6-8 months in advance is great. Of course, the sooner you book it, the better off you will be. But you can start making Dining Reservations at 180 days prior to check in. If you can book a little more than six months out, you’ll have time to think about and gather information for where you’d like to eat, how you’d like to spend your days in the parks, etc.
