Sign up here to get sale alerts from Kohl’s. They will email you a coupon to save $5 when you spend $5 or more in-store! Unfortunately it is not good on the Kohl’s Cares for Kids items. But it is good on almost everything else in the store.
Plus make sure you check out the Kohl’s rebate list from time to time. Hopefully there will be a rebate for something that is on your list.
See all the ways to get coupons here.

How would you like to turn your couponing savings into actual cash or Amazon gift cards? There is a new program called Saving Star that does just that! Saving Star has a selection of eCoupons that can be added to your store’s loyalty card and when you purchase that product at participating stores (Saving Star works with your store loyalty card at CVS, Rite Aid, Albertsons, Dillon’s, Kroger, Ralph’s and many more stores) the eCoupon amount is added to your Saving Star account. When you reach $5, you can redeem your savings for Paypal or Amazon gift cards or you can donate it to the American Forests.
Here’s how it works:
Here are a few things to remember:
I’m a member of Upromise and see that its Grocery eCoupons are powered by SavingStar. Can I participate in both Upromise and SavingStar?
Yes. In fact, SavingStar (which was created as an independent company when it was spun out from Upromise) provides the eCoupons for the Upromise service. You may register for both the Upromise and SavingStar services, including registering your same store loyalty cards in each service. However, you may only activate a particular eCoupon in one service during a single promotion period. In the future, you’ll see SavingStar powering other rewards services as well.
How quickly do my savings post to my SavingStar account?
Your savings will typically post to your SavingStar account between two days and two weeks after your purchase, depending on how quickly stores send us purchase data. In rare cases it can take up to 30 days. SavingStar is actively working with retailers to post your savings as quickly as possible.
Does SavingStar offer iPhone® or Android® apps?
Yes! If you haven’t already done so, click here for iPhone® and here for Android® to download the apps. These apps allow you to choose eCoupons while on the go – including while you are shopping – and also help you remember which items to purchase to redeem your eCoupons.
Be sure to check out all the various ways to earn rewards/coupons.

Have you downloaded the Foursquare app yet? It’s an app that gives you an opportunity to earn coupons, free stuff, etc just by checking in with your phone.
Last week Cathy checked in at Whole Foods and got a FREE Organic Valley Milk!
If you don’t have an iPhone, they also have it available on a variety of other phones as well as via text messaging.
Plus don’t forget that you can also earn Amazon gift cards with the Checkpoints app…

Long before I was “Couponing to Disney”, I was active on couponing forums. (I actually got my start on Babycenter.) I learned how to coupon, I found deals and I traded coupons…..
Trading coupons is a GREAT way to get more coupons and get rid of the ones you have. But it can be incredibly overwhelming to get started.
Here are the 3 sites that I have traded on before:
Here’s what you can trade:
It is a lot of information to absorb when you just get started trading. I highly suggest that you start with just one site before moving on to the others. Hot Coupon World is probably the easiest one to use, so I would start with that one.
The very first thing you need to do after you join is read through the rules. It is important that you always follow the rules. The ones that will pertain to you the most are Rules for: Trades: Current Coupons, Rules for: Haves Lists: Have Coupons or Actuals, and Trade Rules for: Wish Lists: Seeking Coupons or Actuals for Trade.
Once you have a good understanding of the rules, you are ready to move on.
Once you read through the rules, you are ready to read the Trading Frequently Asked Questions post. Make sure you read these instructions to learn how to start posting.
You should now be completely educate and feel ready to start trading.
The forum that you will start trading in is called Trades: Current Coupons and Offers. Just look for someone who either has what you want or is looking for something that you have.
Trading is really something that you learn as you go. The more you trade, the easier it will get. I have over 500 trades under my belt. I think it is a GREAT way to get coupons.
My tips:
Do you trade coupons? If so, which sites are your favorites? Any tips you want to share?

If you are going to save at the grocery store, you are going to need coupons! Here’s all the places that I know of to find coupons:
Sunday paper
- Types of coupon inserts in paper – Smart Source, Red Plum, P&G, bonus issues like General Mills coupons.
- Not all coupons expire on the same date in the insert!
- Yearly schedule
- Purchase a Sunday paper subscription (You can get multiple at home subscriptions)
- Remember both subscription and newsstand coupons are the same
- Buying paper in store…. remember not all stores charge the same price! My Dollar Tree has papers for half the price of Walmart.
- If you are buying a paper in the store, check to see if it actually has the inserts in it that it is suppose to. It is so annoying to buy a paper, get home, and notice it is missing most of the inserts.
- Recycling (also known as dumpster diving). This is retrieving abandoned inserts in recycling bins or dumpsters. Make sure you check your state laws to make sure it is okay to remove the inserts and always remember to throw your used newspapers into recycling as well.
- Ask a newspaper man what he does with his inserts. He might be willing to give them to you!
- Call your local paper and see if you can go through their leftovers
- Find a place online that sells full inserts or cut coupons (I have personally bought from My Coupon Hunter, The Coupon Clippers and Coupons & Things By DeDe.)
- Buy the biggest city in your area’s paper. Usually the bigger cities have the better coupons.
- And make sure you save EVERY Coupon!!! You never know if the item might go on sale. Better safe than sorry.
Printable Coupons
Most printable coupons can be printed twice by either using your back button or repeating the steps.
These sites change their coupons monthly. So make sure you print all the coupons you like before the month is over! They will expire 30 days from the date you print them:

Smartsource.com
Redplum.com
Box Tops for Education
Betty Crocker
Eat Better America
Pillsbury
Snackpicks
Walgreens

CVS
- Visit the websites of your favorite brands. A lot of them will have printable coupons on their sites. Also make sure you sign up for their newsletters. They also email coupons out!
- You can find even more printable coupons posted under the Printable Coupons category here on Couponing to Disney.
*If a coupon seems HOT to you, print it out now. You never know how long they will be available!
*Never copy a printable coupon
Catalina coupons
- these are coupons that print out at the register when you purchase your coupons
- if a store has a catalina machine, make sure you get your coupons. Sometimes the cashier will forget!
Peelies
- Peelies are coupons located on the front of products at the grocery store.
- Peelies are manufacture coupons that can be used at every store.
- Is it ok to remove peelies? That is something you will have to decide for yourself. Some people will remove just a few to use and some feel like they should be left on the product for the person who is buying that particular container.
Blinkies
- What is a blinkie coupon? This is a coupon that is located in the grocery store in small machines in front of products. It is okay to take a few of them.
- They change these coupons monthly.
Tearpads and booklets
- What is a tearpad coupon? This is a coupon that is located on a pad or in a booklet in the grocery store. Tearpad coupons are coupons you literally tear from a pad.
- Make sure you pick up every free booklet at the store. You never know which one will have coupons!
Inside the products
- Always look for coupons inside the products before you throw them away!
Write companies
- Find out all the details here.
Free Samples
- A lot of times, free samples will also contain coupons for the full size product. Find all the free samples I have posted here.
Mobile coupons

- Short Cuts – load on your store card or on your phone (make sure stores in your area use these)
- Soft coin – load on your store card or on your phone (make sure stores in your area use these)
Magazines
- most magazines you already receive have coupons
- All You magazine has a ton of coupons. You can either buy a subscription or pick up a copy at your local Walmart (only store that sells them).
Your local stores
- Make sure you sign up for your store mailing lists, clubs and more
- Also check the weekly circular for bonus coupons
Text coupons
- Target bonus texted coupons
- check to see if stores you shop at have this as well
Entertainment book
This is a book full of coupons for your local restaurant, stores, etc. Make sure you go through a cash back site like Ebates or Shop at Home and earn cash back. And if you are a new member, you will get a $5 bonus on top of the cash back! Just sign up and after logging in, search for the store in the search box and follow the link to the store’s homepage and proceed with your order like normal. Your cash back will appear in your account. It’s like getting paid to shop!

When you coupon, make sure you look through EVERYTHING before you throw it away
Upromise
Learn more about Upromise here.
Newspaper
- Sometimes you will find coupons in the actual newspaper (rare).
- Always look through the Parade and USA today inserts in your Sunday paper. They often contain coupons.

On bags (especially fast food) or in fast food toys
Pamplets found in doctor offices, dentist offices, at the gym, etc

- Kids sometimes sell coupon books, cards, etc for fundraising
Rebates
- When you submit for a rebate for a specific product, sometimes they will send coupons with the rebate check
- Sometimes rebates are in the form of coupon incentives instead of checks.
Tourist attractions
- Welcome centers, TTAs and truck stops have coupons for local restaurants. I found a coupon for $5/$15 purchase at the Planet Hollywood restaurant on a flyer at a hotel.
Movies
- Movies (DVDs or Blu-Rays that you have purchased) often have coupons inside.
Phone book
