If your oven is older, you might notice that the temperature on the dial isn’t what it seems that the temperature is inside the oven. But did you know there is a way to check it without a thermometer? Put a tablespoon of flour on a baking sheet and place it inside a preheated oven for 5 minutes. If the flour turns light tan, your oven temperature is between 250-325 degrees. If it’s golden brown, the temperature is between 325-400 degrees. If it turns dark brown, the temperature is between 400-450 degrees. If your flour comes out almost black, it’s between 450-525 degrees.
