We decided yesterday afternoon to have a yard sale. Our neighborhood was having a community wide yard sale and it was very well advertised so we figured it was worth throwing a sale together. I honestly didn’t think we would have that much because we have hauled a TON of stuff to the thrift store over the past year. But we cleaned out the attic and just threw it all into the front yard (well placed it nicely).
The sale lasted from 7 am to 1 pm and then we hauled what was left to the thrift store. We made $259.51 which will all go straight into the Disney Fund!
$259.51 added to the Disney Fund. $1597.33 saved since June 1st, 2010. (Goal is $3,000.)
You can see all the previous deposits here.
Don’t forget that you can now showcase your own Disney funds via the Couponing to Disney message board! (See how to do it here.) You are more than welcome to link to your thread in the comments below!

We’re going in November too (not that you like to tell blog stalkers your actual dates). :) This trip is being paid for courtesy of our tax return since I found you a little ‘late’ but I’m using your Couponing to Disney tips for our extras and I’m going to be able to convince hubby to take our 4th Disney trip a heck of a lot sooner with my “found money” for next time!

I’ve been following your blog for a while now. We are taking our four kids to Disney this fall. I have been couponing for about four years. I love all your ideas and input about Disney. I haven’t been since I was 12, so my kids haven’t been. We are currently throwing any money we can into our Disney fund. We will have yard sale #2 in two weeks! Great job!!

Our community yard sale is the Friday/Saturday before Memorial Day. We live out in the boondocks and lots of people from the city come and stay in cabins and rent homes for the long weekend (fishing, boating, etc.). I always make about 150-200 each year and am hoping for the same this year. I’ve been getting stuff together and have recently been pulling everything out. If I haven’t used it since we moved (a couple of years ago) I’m getting rid of it. I’m not good with clutter and no room in the house. Here’s hoping I make as much as you! :)

Congratulations! That’s so awesome that you were able to throw it together. Sometimes I think that way is best, because you don’t have to stress over it for weeks!

Big Congrats! We have a yard sale planned for later this summer, so hopefully we will make some Disney $ too. Every week when I deposit our money in the savings account, my 2yo DD tells the banker, “That’s our Disney money.” We are going in October and have about $1600 left to go, however, I was VERY generous with our budget!

Great work! Your progress is exciting!

Garage sales are a great idea! I go to garage sales every week so I’m sure I’ve helped some families add a little to their Disney fund ;)
I *love* going to community sales! Even though most of the houses don’t have that much to offer you can hit several in such a short amount of time it totally makes up for it.
If your neighborhood has a weekend sale planned please think about participating. I went to several community sales this morning and was surprised that at 2 of the neighborhoods only 3-4 houses participated. Even if you don’t think you have enough to put out, try it. You never know what people are looking for and you may be able to de-clutter and add to your fund at the same time!
