NOTE: Now, Dinner at Be Our Guest now 2 table service credits if you’re on the dining plan and a Prix Fixe menu for Dinner.
This review is by my friend Tabitha…
First, let me tell you just how EXCITED I was to get to eat at the Beast’s castle for dinner on our trip. Dinner at Be Out Guest was on my Disney bucket list but I wasn’t able to get a reservation before we left. The night before we were going to be at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party I checked the My Disney Experience App and there was an 8:15 Be Our Guest reservation that showed up. I grabbed it!
It is not a character meal in the same sense as other meals at Disney are (like Tusker House, 1900 Park Fare or Chef Mickey’s) BUT it is the only way to meet the Beast at Disney. After dinner you exit through the Master’s Study and you get to meet him. A Photopass photographer is there for pictures also.
Reservations are a must for Be Our Guest. There are three dining areas – the main dining room, the Rose Gallery or The West Wing.
The main dining room looks like the ballroom in the movie. The Rose Gallery features a life sized Belle and Beast statue and pictures from the movie around the room. The West Wing is the Beast’s room from the movie – the dark room with the slashed curtains and the Enchanted Rose on the table by the window. This is where we sat for dinner. It is noisy because there is constant thunder and lightning going off “outside” and the entrance to the kitchen is off this room. But it’s a fun room to dine in if you like atmosphere. I can’t promise any of the other rooms are less noisy. The main dining room is large and holds more guests and everyone has to move through there (guests entering/exiting, wait staff, etc). The Rose Gallery was kind of quieter at breakfast but I don’t know about at dinner.
On to the food:
Grilled Strip Steak with Garlic-Herb Butter and Pommes Frites
If you’re on the dining plan, you might as well go big. My husband and I both got this meal. The steak is DELICIOUS. I ate steak the whole trip because we were on the dining plan and this one was my favorite.
The Garlic-Herb Butter is AMAZING. I don’t know what I was supposed to dip in it but I dipped everything in it – my steak, my fries, my green beans – I even asked for a second cup of it and they gladly obliged. I know, my first thought when they put the plate in front of me was “I’m paying $35 for a steak dinner and I’m getting fries with it?” But they were good – especially dipped in the Garlic-Herb Butter!
Kid’s Meal Beast Casserole
Macaroni & Cheese served with Seasonal Vegetables and choice of one (1) Beverage and one (1) Dessert
It’s dark dining in the west wing and I didn’t get a great picture. My son loved it. He loved that it was called “Beast Casserole” and said it was the best mac & cheese he’s ever had.
Now dessert! Because if you are dining at Be Our Guest you MUST have the Grey Stuff. It is delicious.
The “Grey Stuff”
If you’re on the dining plan dessert is included. If you want dessert, they will roll up a cart and you can choose from the desserts on the cart. The Grey Stuff really is delicious. At dinner they serve it on top of a chocolate candy bar type dessert. It’s a hard chocolate shell with a creme inside. I didn’t love it but it wasn’t terrible. I was also very full. But I ate the Grey Stuff off the top. The Grey Stuff at breakfast is served on top of a chocolate sponge cake and I liked it more than the dinner dessert.
Overall Impression:
Excellent. Atmosphere was great, especially if you’re a life-long Beauty and the Beast fan like me. Food was top notch. I was plenty full when it was over with.

We ate at be our guest for lunch and other than ohana it was our very favorite meal. I loved that it was just a quick service meal also. We will have to try it for dinner next time though.

I liked the Grey Stuff but the strawberry dessert is just off the charts. The pork chop was amazing too. BOG was our favorite table service!!
