Hello Couponing to Disney readers! My name is Carrie, and I’m here today to answer some frequently asked questions about Walt Disney World. I work with Destinations in Florida as a travel agent. I love traveling, especially to Disney, and now I get to help families make magical memories with their own travel! One of the most important decisions you’ll make when planning a Disney vacation is where to call home. Today, I’m focusing on FAQs about resorts.
FAQ #1: Are there Disney resorts that accommodate families of 5?
Yes! Disney offers resorts at all price levels that will work for families of five. At the Value level, you have Disney’s Art of Animation Resort with themed suites, sleeping up to 6 guests-Lion King, Finding Nemo, and Cars. You also have Disney’s All Star Music resort, which has suites that sleep up to 6 guests. Disney’s moderate resort, Port Orleans Riverside, has rooms that accommodate up to five guests, with a pull down murphy style bed. The Cabins at Fort Wilderness also have plenty of room for larger families-they can sleep up to six. Finally, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Boardwalk Inn, and Yacht Club have standard rooms that will fit families of 5. For even more space, you can also upgrade to the Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts with 2-Bedroom Villas that sleep up to 8. So, there are MANY options available for all tastes and budgets.
FAQ #2: What is a split stay? Why would I want to one?
A split stay is when you split your nights between two, or more, Disney Resorts or Universal Studios. For example, you might stay 3 nights at Disney’s POP Century Resort, and then move over to Disney’s Polynesian Resort for the remaining 4 nights of your stay. Disney takes care of moving all your belongings for you. If you are visiting Universal Studios, you can add shuttles right into your package to make your transfer even more convenient. Many guests enjoy split stays because it gives them a taste of different resorts while traveling. Also, if a 7 night stay in a Deluxe Resort is out of your price range, a split stay gives you the opportunity to experience a particular resort at a lesser cost.
FAQ #3: What is the advantage of online check in?
Online check in can save time upon your arrival. By checking in online, you’ll be able to make requests. For example, close to transportation, food, a first floor room, etc. This gives Disney time to try to honor your requests before arrival. Also, you’ll find it builds anticipation, knowing you’ve checked one more thing off your pre arrival list!
FAQ #4: Why should I stay at a Value Resort?
Value resorts are perfect for families who are watching their budget while traveling to Walt Disney World. Also, if you prefer to put your hard earned money towards character meals or special experiences, you can do so when staying at a value resort. They are heavily themed, so that makes them extra fun when traveling with children.
FAQ #5: Why should I stay at a Deluxe Resort?
Deluxe Resorts are great if park proximity is a factor for you. When traveling with young children, it’s nice to go back and have a break. When staying at a Deluxe Resort – such as ones on the monorail, or within walking distance to EPCOT-you can’t beat the convenience and time you’ll save with a short monorail ride, boat ride, or walk back to enjoy the pool or nap. Also, the rooms in Deluxe Resorts tend to be larger, and theyoffer both quick service and table service dining options.
