The Disney Skyliner transportation system was first announced in 2017. Now we have a narrowed down timeline of when guests can expect to use this new transportation system. Bob Chapek (Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences & Consuer Products) has announced the Disney Skyliner transportation system will open Fall 2019 for guests.
The Disney Skyliner will connect Epcot and Hollywood Studios from Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Pop Century, Disney’s Art of Animation and upcoming Disney’s Riveria Resort. Guests will ride in a gondola featuring favorite Disney Characters from movies & attractions. Each cabin can hold up to 8 Adults. The gondola will be able to accommodate wheelchairs & strollers.
The hub of the Skyline System will be located at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort (where 3 lines intersect). The theming will be inspired by already existing village marketplaces of the resort. The hub will act as a transfer station between gondola routes. The hub (at Caribbean Beach Resort) will also feature a new restaurant.
