My experiences:
We ate here on our first trip. We had to wait 30 minutes for a table and then Cinderella skipped our table. When I told the manager, we had to wait in the lobby for her to finish her rounds through the room she was in. That was at least another 20 minutes. He did give us a cast member only pin for our troubles.
When we found out that breakfast is traditional American favorites, we decided to try it again and it was amazing! We will definitely eat here for Breakfast from now on.

I really enjoyed our meal here – we did breakfast because I wasn’t too sure if we would really like the Norwegian food. I liked that the eggs and other breakfast items were served family style – my husband still got up to get bagels and a few other items offered in their little buffet, but overall, we got up much less than at other meals, which was nice. My daughter absolutely loved the interaction with the princesses. It didn’t feel rushed at all and we got lots of great pictures. We got a family picture taken with Belle as we entered, and it is so nice that they give you the pictures for free! I do wish Belle could have visited the table so we had a little more interaction but it’s worth the trade off. The atmosphere was really nice, too. We will definitely return here!

I really enjoyed eating at Akershus. I thought that the food was so interesting and tasted really good. I liked the buffet-style appetizers and I loved the princesses. We had to wait for our turn to be seated, but we didn’t have a reservation and only had to wait 30 minutes. There are attractions close to the restaurant if you do have a long wait. Once you are inside, you have your picture taken with one of the princesses (they rotate). Then you are taken to your table and order your food. Soon, the princesses arrive and each one spends an equal amount of time with you. You don’t feel rushed and it is a special moment for your special princess or just to eat the food. This is one of my favorite dining experiences, and is certainly better than Cinderella’s Castle.

We were just at Disney the first week in September and did 9 character meals. We ate at Akershus twice on the same day — for breakfast and dinner. It was just ok. The princesses here were the nicest however. Great experience here for our two little girls — both 3. The food at breakfast was so much better than dinner. I had the chicken at dinner and it was over cooked, dry and very salty. I ate some of both my daughters kids meals which were so much better — their chicken and pizza — than our dinners. Dessert was good. For both meals we were at the same too small table — very disappointing in the seating — tables are too small for the amount of food and plates on the table. Plus I had to squeeze in a corner to even get to my seat. The service was poor. The wait staff wasn’t friendly at all. We saw Belle for pictures at both breakfast and dinner. Again, the princesses were the best here. But wouldn’t go back again.

We took our daughter to Akerhaus for dinner. The food was not the best. However, the location of our table could not have been better. We go really lucky. We were the first family to be seated and sat right next to the door in which all the princesses come out. They couldn’t miss us! My daughter waited in anticipation for the door to open each time! It was a GREAT place to see all the princesses easily. I also loved the princess picture that came along with the meal.
Janice says
I was so nervous about going to dinner here because I thought the food would be too ‘wierd’ for me, it was DELICIOUS!!! It was my daughter’s favorite meal of the trip. I loved the character interaction and the little parade they did through the restaurant. It’s also a great deal that you get a photo included in the price.
sharon says
We enjoy eating here. The kids love the princesses and the food is different, but good. I like that you get a picture with Belle included in the price and that the meal starts with an appetizer buffet.
Ann says
We made a repeat visit just last month. We really like character breakfasts to get in the parks early. We also get lots of attention when they’re fresh. Breakfast here is good basic stuff ( with some Norwegian choices on the cold buffet) Food comes family style. My grown son actually likes those hot princesses. The little boy does too but won’t admit it. The girls got their princesses and then we didn’t have to stand in lines for more!
Kim says
We had breakfast at Akershus in March of 2011. We too had to wait quite a while to get in.
After much research, I chose a late breakfast. Eating a late breakfast allowed us to skip lunch. The breakfast food was fine. The main reason for going is the interaction with the princesses. When we went, my two little girls were able to meet Belle, Aurora, Cinderella, Snow White, and Ariel. I know that there is no guarantee which princesses will be there on any given day… I think we really lucked out!! Seeing the expressions on my daughters faces made this an absolutely wonderful dining experience.

we ate there last weekend wouldn’t go back. we had a 8pm reservation I had confirmation number and everything. I went to the hostess desk around 5pm just by any chance maybe someone cancelled or whatever. she said no and asked me what time my reservation was I told her 8pm gave her my name she verified I was on for 8. we waiting for awhile saw a few of the countries and then came back 10 mins prior to 8 exactly what she told me. She said they were having problems with their online reservation system and for some reason they could not find me in their system anymore. I was furious. not only did I make that reservation serval months ago and confirmed that I was on there not just 3 hrs ago but the reservation just magically disappeared. She had the nerve to ask me if I had even made the reservation. I said ma’am I’m the same person you just saw 3 hrs ago and you said I was on there. I think she accidently deleted my reservation. After several minutes with arguing with her and talking with the manager and my husband coming up and arguing with them they said they would squeeze us in. I was not happy but at least my girlsgot the chanceto see the princesses. The food was also not that good cold and the serve never came back to refill our drinks. Was not impressed with the service at all and after my oldest daughter fell asleep at the table waiting for the check to come which took about 30 mins I”m not sure what was up with that. Lets just say I did not leave a tip.

We dined at Akershus for lunch during our first visit in 2008. I really enjoyed it! The character interaction was excellent – I have great photos of my girls with each of the princesses – and I enjoyed my mushroom-stuffed pasta VERY much! I would definitely recommend this as a place for a great character dining experience and delicious meal!
Jennifer says
We have eaten breakfast here twice and loved it both times. The food was good and my daughter loved the princesses. My son doesn’t really care that much about them yet. He just enjoys the food. I love the pictures with Belle and the fact that each Princess comes to your table while you eat to take pictures and sign autographs.
nicole deitrick says
we dined at Akershus during our 2011 trip. this was a last minute reservation for my husband, 3 1/2 year old daughter & myself. I was plesantly surprised with how interactive the princesses were with the little girls. my daughter espically loved the princess parade! we’ll be making a reservation here again for our 2012 trip.
mairhiggs says
By far, best Princess meal on property. We did the lunch and the servings were huge, let alone the buffet of appetizers (there were lunchmeats, cheeses, salads, etc..), that came with the meal. Yummy. We saw all our favorites here Belle, Ariel, Jasmine, Aurora, Snow White. They all spent a few minutes actually having a conversation with my kids (Belle asked them what their favorite books were, Ariel asked if my son was a clown fish because he had an orange shirt on, etc..). I highly reccommend this meal.
We have also had the breakfast meal and I remember the breakfast being tasty as well. On that trip, it was only my two sons and Snow White made my son and honorary dwarf for the day, made him stand up, close his eyes and she kissed him on the forehead! So cute, we left the red lipstick on his head all day and all the cast members commented on it! The potato casserole was so delicious !
Cristi says
We ate at Akershus for the first time just a few weeks ago. Aside from the experience of seeing the princesses, I don’t think it was worth the cost. Getting a souvenir photo was great, as were the princesses, but the food was not. The buffett consists of all cold food and the selection of hot food that they bring to the table isn’t much. I’m not sure I would dine here again.
Inge says
Great princess dining! We went for breakfast and it was great food loved their potatoes esp :) The photo’s you recieve seem to be of a good quality and the restaurant is very nice. We’re hoping to try CRT this year but Akershus is definitly a great option as well.
Cleo says
Even wading through all the positive trip reports about Akershus, I realized that the food is potentially “nasty.” Haha, I am so glad to find your review. A daily dose of reality is always welcome. I plan on doing this once to get into the park early and we can always compensate/have an excuse to patronize Kringla bakery.
Kathleen says
We did breakfast here on our trip last December. We loved it! Our daughters are very into the princesses and were princesses for Halloween so they wore their costume. My son was Prince Charming for Halloween and he wore his costume as well. The princesses were fantastic with the kids, the princess procession was so adorable, and the breakfast food was good. Our service wasy beyond wonderful while we were there. It is tops on our list to do again!
Anna says
We have eaten here for lunch/dinner the past two years. The first year was much better! When we went back in 2010 the menu had changed as well as the portion sizes. We were quite disappointed the second time around. Also we have not seen Mulan or Mary Poppins as a part of the experience. We also would have liked to have princess portrait the second time with a different princess. The positive end is that all of the princesses are extremely gracious and we enjoyed getting to see them!
Krista says
Princess Ariel in her “human” form was also at our dinner in November. I agree that the food wasn’t great–we went for dinner and it was definitely different from the other fare served at the World, but for us it was well worth it to get to see all of the princesses in one shot without having to wait in any lines. Belle was also the featured princess at ours and we got two photos included with the meal. We chose to have one family photo and one of our five year old. We also had Aurora, Snow White, Cinderella, and as I said before, Ariel. We’ll definitely do it again!
Heather says
We ate here for the 1st time this past September and really enjoyed it. We had breakfast and the food was really good, my son has a load of food allergies and they were also right on top of that as well, in fact his food took up most of our table…lol. The princesses were very friendly but I wasn’t happy with our seating, we were right by the door of where the princesses go in and out of, so it was kind of a tease for us every time they came in and out especially for my daughter. We saw, Aurora, Snow White, Ariel and Cinderella and had out photo with Belle at the entrance. I am planning on doing the breakfast again the next time, our friends went in October and opted for dinner and said the food was terrible but they mentioned about a parade of princesses that went on during their experience and we didn’t have during ours.
Brandy says
Oh, sorry to hear you had a bad experience. We ate there in Jan. 2010 when we stayed at the Cont. and had the meal plan–it was our 1st character experinece. We arrived early for dinner and were seated early :) We had Belle photos and they must have printed them twice because they gave us two sets :) The apt. buffet was ok with us but our kids loves just about everything. I had the chicken and dh had beef (I think) and we enjoyed the food. I don’t recall what the kids had. It was crowded–ie, hard to get a photo of our kids + princess without some other family in the background but my dd (2 at the time) just loved it. We actually wanted to go again to celebrate dh’s new job but were unable to get a reservation and ended up going to the garden grill (I had picked up the rest. . com gift card for $2) but really we wanted the princess diner again.
Megan says
We ate lunch there in 2007 and thought it was wonderful. The food was interesting because it was Norwegian, but we enjoyed it. I think my son, who was 6 at the time, mostly liked to pick things off the appetizer bar that he liked: meats, cheeses, and crackers. But he got a standard kids meal. The princesses circulated around the room and stopped at every table. We met and took pictures with Jasmine, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, and there were formal portraits with Belle when we arrived. My daughter is 12 now and still talks about it.
Lance says
See I guess it all depends. I have been going here ever since I was a child. Of course I am of Norwegian heritage so the food is my thing. Could care less about the princesses, go there for the food :). Usually the food is good, Wasn’t that great last time and we had to wait 45 min past our scheduled time to get in. Was livid. Worse thing they did was make it a princess meal. I mean we really need a charachter banquet at Epcot?
monica says
We ate there 2 weeks ago & loved the food & atmosphere. All the princesses took their time at our table & I loved the buffet while we were waiting for our entree.
Carole says
We went for dinner on our first night at Disney last May, and we absolutely loved it. Our server was great. We were celebrating our daughter’s 7th b’day, and they took very good care of her. They brought her a cupcake and a signed card from the princesses. We spent her actual b’day (our last day at the end of the week) at CRT, which was also great, but Akershus was a great way to start the week. Plus, w/ the dining plan, it was only 1 dinner credit, whereas CRT is 2. Our daughter and 4-yr-old son loved the Mickey shaped ravioli. I honestly don’t remember what I ate (I was distracted taking photos of the kids w/ the princesses), but I definitely remember the dessert. It was a trio of desserts that the table shared, and they were delicious. The best rice pudding I’ve ever had! In fact, I e-mailed WDW after the trip to rave about it and ask if they would possibly share the recipe, and they did! Also, the Snow White here was the absolute best one we saw. She was spot-on in voice and mannerisms. In fact, she was probably the best character we saw the entire week. Our daughter loves Ariel, and she was great too.
I will say that one thing that was lackluster that I remember eating was the cold buffet available when you arrive. They have a meats, cheeses, etc., cold buffet to get started and you order your entree off the menu. The buffet was not that great. I do remember the entree being better than that.
I’m sorry to hear you had such a bad experience, C to D. I hope you don’t give up on it! Overall, we highly recommend it.
Julie says
We just went here in March – ate at 2:00. We loved it and thought it was one of the better meals we had. I had a chicken dish, my brother had some kind of raviolis in a cream sauce, can’t remember what my husband and mom had but it looked like some kind of meatballs – everyone thought it was excellent and the kids loved meeting the princesses. The desserts were AMAZING!!! They even brought us an extra one without charging us (it came family style and everyone went crazy over the chocolate dessert : ) ) The kids meals looked OK – nothing special. Will definitely go back!!
Peg says
Years ago our family of 4 did breakfast and it was good, both in food and interactions. Last year we had a total of 5 with us for breakfast again and it was ok. I felt the characters were rushed. We caught a break (we thought) so our little princess ran to the bathroom. She ended up missing someone, so we had to sit and wait while she finished the whole restaurant! The thing that annoyed us, was she was only 1 table past us when our princess returned, she could have easily turned around. When I asked that she do that I was told she couldn’t.
I would not do it again. IF seeing princesses is high on your list, then it might be worth considering. This was the first trip for the little princess and she really wanted to meet Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella again. (she met them at MNSSHP)
We had free dining, I would was surprised how much it “would” have cost had we paid out of pocket!!
Angie says
We have done both breakfast and lunch. I would never go back for lunch – like most of you are saying not to our liking, but breakfast was amazing and would go back in heartbeat. Had amazing interaction with the princesses and also we did the first seating and it was wonderful to be able to bein Ecpot with out anyone there.
Jen W says
We ate here for dinner one night and it was AWFUL. The food was not good at all. Even more important than that, my daughter has several food allergies. We had called ahead and were told the chef would come to our table and they would be able to serve her safely. The chef would not come to the table and the extremely UNEDUCATED waiter told us to get some fruit for her from the salad bar (the fruit being right next the the egg laden mayo salads not to mention several other life-threatening foods for her). This was our one dining experience on our trip and for that reason we would NEVER plan to dine on site again!!!
Terri says
We went on our first (and only so far) family trip back in 2007, we really enjoyed it. We had 8am reservations, so Epcot was empty when we got there, that was really cool, I wish had took pictures of the empty park! My youngest was just a year old at the time, and the princesses really made a fuss over him, leaving him lipstick kisses on his cheeks LOL. The little ham loved it. We liked the food and thought dd’s pic with Belle came out very nice. We have breakfast ADRs for our upcoming visit.
Debbie says
We attended the dinner. My girls really enjoyed the experience. The food was good but you have to be willing to try something new. I tried the dumpling specialty, Though it was different and I probably wouldn’t have it again, our server gave us the history behind it and how her mother makes it for Christmas every year; I just had to try it. My husband really liked the pork chops and requested to go back again. Dessert was fantastic! We had exceptional service and were first to meet the princesses right out of their dressing room. Have to tell you, my back was to the door and when Snow White came out, she scared me half to death…I didn’t expect it. Was a great opportunity for the girls to see Ariel and other princesses in a relaxed setting. Will definitely do again!

We went to the Lunch on 2010 and had an absolute wonderful time. We got to the sign in time at just the right time to begin to register when we were to check in. We only had to wait to go into the restaurant maybe 10 minutes. Once we got into the restuaurant we immediately got to get the photo taken with Belle and were immediately seated in the back area. Little did we know, that there was a door about 3 feet away from our table (that our nice waiter told us that, this is where the princess’s would be walking out of) so it was absolutely perfect! We did not wait long at all. We were the third table the princess’s saw, the girls got photo’s, autographs and huggs from all of them, even my husband got a few photo’s with a few of them as well. When booking the lunch reservations, book as early as you can, don’t try and book when you normally have lunch, go by the schedule when they start to have lunch time for these character meals. It is more flexible to get a better table, and you get in faster and not a longer wait, and your timeframe is more flexible. If you have younger children, be flexible and this way, less wait time, which means less stress. The food is ok for the adults, generally the same for the children’s choices as around for most restaurants. My oldest put it the best… “the Micky Mouse raveoli’s did not impress me “. We are planning on Disney in August 2011 again, but not doing the Akershus House this year, trying other restaurants this year, but would try a different buffet at Akershus again another year.
Jennifer Loucks says
I love the food and character interaction at this restaurant, but I am not sure I will go back for several years. We went again last summer while on the dining plan. Shortly before we went, they changed this to a two credit meal, without notifying us. We did not know they took 2 credits until the bill came and I saw how much they raised the price on the meal. It used to be a standard Disney price and then you bought the pictures, now they include the pictures and raised the price. I just don’t think this is an economically priced meal when you consider what you get, and I am not a cheap skate when it comes to Disney.
Katie says
We had breakfast here during our trip last summer. My little girl was wearing her Belle costume and Belle was the princess taking pictures that day too. It is one of the best pictures that we got. We have used it for lots of things since we’ve been back. The food was pretty good. My little girl loved all the princesses, we actually had already done Cinderella’s Castle so I didn’t know if she would be impressed or not, but she had a great time. We plan to do the breakfast again next trip.
Stacie R says
We went for lunch in November and loved it! My daughter was so excited to see all those princesses. Now, my daughters were 3 and 1 at the time and we did not have to pay for them, which was a plus as they both got meals. Our food was very good and I thought getting the 8×10 and two 4×6 prints with the Belle (princess of the day) was a great thing as we did not know this was included. The only other character meal we have done was Chef Mickey which we liked a lot too. Both of those were comparable in price, but since Chef Mickey is a buffet you do get more food.
Kelly says
My husband would agree with yours Kristen. We had reservations and still had to wait for 45 minutes. We didn’t eat any food from the buffet because it looked gross. We only ate the breakfast that they brought to the table. The only reason I wanted to go there was because of Snow White. A kid at heart she is my favorite princess and I have a huge Snow White collection which started when I was 5 and I am 34 now! I could fill a room! It’s all packed away though. I have a boy and no girls to share it with. Anyways, I would never go back, but I am glad that we went that one time to see her, because we didn’t see her any other time during the whole trip.
Heidi says
We LOVE it there. We always do breakfast because that is food we know and will eat! LOL We have always had a wonderful experience with the princesses there. My only complaint is why is Mary Poppins there?? We saw her both times. She is not a “princess”. I think it’s time to find her a new home!!
Amy says
I’m sorry you had such a bad experience! I went with 2 girlfriends after we ran the Princess Half-Marathon. I thought it was great! The food on the buffet WAS kinda sketchy to me, but the entrees we had were fabulous! There were tons of princesses and they were all as nice as they could be to 2 middle-aged women who were making fools of themselves!
Melissa says
We LOVE Akershus!! I can’t even count the number of times we’ve been there. The appetizer buffet is amazing. The food is always great. I always get the mushroom ravioli, and I love it. The princesses are so sweet and really take their time with the kids. As long as you strike up a conversation with the princesses, they will spend a lot of time with you. If you don’t really have anything to say to them, they will just take a picture and leave. My daughter feels so special when we eat there. My son will have nothing to do with princesses. My son, who will have nothing to do with princesses, even loves it because of the food and watching his sister have so much fun. We have had lunch and dinner there. We like dinner better because they do the princess parade. The picture we get there is such a sweet keepsake. You have to have more adventurous tastebuds to eat here, so I was nervous when we brought 11 people with us during our trip this past December. I was so excited that everyone loved it, and most of them said it was there favorite meal of the trip! You do have to wait a little to sit, but it doesn’t bother me because it just means the princesses are taking their time with all the little girls who are so excited to meet them. We have dined at Cinderella’s Royal Table as well, and then was so much better!! Only a couple more months until we’ll be back at Akershus!!
Tanya says
We had a great time eating here. They even moved our reservations to lunch because we signed up for breakfast accidentally. We were the 2nd table and got to see all the princesses. The food was not the best, but my daugther was too excited to eat at any of the character meals. My only complaint is that it is a little cramped for good pictures. I think it’s a good substitute if you can’t get a reservation at CRT, which we couldn’t.
Sarah Curtis says
We have done both breakfast and lunch here (lunch once, breakfast twice). We enjoy the breakfast. It is served family style at your table and there is also a buffet with additional offerings. It is not our favorite breakfast spot(but it is good), but we love to see the princesses and also really love that the photo package with Belle is included so we have returned. Lunch however was not so fabulous. The food wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t good either. We will not return for lunch and if you are not doing dining plan I would really stay away from lunch. More expensive than other places for lunch and not even close as good.

Wewent in 2008 for dinner. Food was ‘meh’ but the princess interaction was great! Belle, Aurora, Jasmine, Ariel (the best) and Alice (amazing) were there. We have a ressie for breakfast this next trip and I’m so excited to get into Epcot so early! 8:05 time! My daughter is 6 this year, so we are at the height of princess craziness! I’m really excited for her.
On a side note, Alice was amazing- she spent time with my daughter and get this- the next night we were in MK watching Spectro Magic, sitting right front and center in Liberty Square. Alice spots my daughter and says to her (in her microphone)- Hello there! We had dinner together last night- I remember you! Wasn’t it wonderful??? I about died- I don’t know that my daughter caught it, but I Was in tears. How many gillions of little girls must she encounter and she remembered her!!! Disney MAGIC!

Sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy this one. We have been twice for breakfast & we all love it. I will say that we did wait about 15-20 minutes past our ADR time on each visit. But the princess interaction here has always been great for us. I even gave a special thank-you card to the character handler on our last visit because I was so impressed with her ability to organize so many princesses. We have only gone for breakfast because we have picky eaters & the other menus look too adventurous for us. Breakfast is much more traditional American fare & we really enjoy it. In fact, this is my husband’s favorite restaurant in WDW.

I went last december for breakfast when I attempted to hit every character dining spot – and honestly I found it lackluster. While the service for me was fine (because I was alone, they ended up taking excellent care of me. I was also celebrating my birthday during my visit, so the waiter made me take a photo with him and my cupcake just to brighten my morning!), I just did not find the food that great. Herring for breakfast?? Not for me! I ended up getting the salmon and some bread from the cold bar up front, and solely ate the eggs from the stuff brought to me. I guess norwegian food isn’t for me, but I will say I found it nice and surprising that the photo was included since most places it is extra.

I went to Disney with my (after the first day there) fiance and his family. We had dinner at the Princess Storybook Dining. We had made a reservation and were there plenty early of that reservation time and ended up waiting what felt like forever (we had enough time that his siblings and i had a mini photoshoot while waiting). What felt like hours later we finally got in. We, too, got to take a picture with Belle. And Alice from Alice in Wonderland was in the Princess Parade (we didn’t entirely understand). The one good thing I will say is my fiance’s little sister has special needs and the princesses were WONDERFUL with her. Cinderella grabbed her hand and had her hold her hand during the whole “parade”. Most of us thought the food was okay to not good. (I’m not a picky eater and I thought the food was just okay). The service wasn’t horrible but wasn’t outstanding either. I believe that we all made the collaborative decision to not go back.
David says
We’ve done this one twice for breakfast. It’s standard breakfast fare. My oldest daughter is a bacon junkie and said something about wanting more bacon while our server was in ear shot. He brought out a plate of bacon and I had to make her stop before she got sick! On our last meal there we met Cinderella and Ariel which excited my wife as much as it did our 3 daughters! I’d do it again for breakfast
Andrea says
We went when my daughter was 3. We had the breakfast and thought that it was wonderful. It was all you could eat. We saw almost all the princesses, Mary Poppins and Esmerilda(Huntchback). My daughter loved it. I would do it again.

We live in Orlando, so we’ve eaten at just about every place on Disney property. We like it there for BREAKFAST ONLY! the lunch and dinner menus are strange at best! breakfast is a buffet and cheaper! you still get your free picture with Belle and it’s never been terribly busy either for breakfast. It’s the best place to get great photos with the princesses!
Lynn Pagans says
We’ve done this one twice- for lunch- and have recommended it to many people. The buffet part of lunch has some unusual fare, but most of it is good and the lunch entrees were very good. Cocktails are excellent, too! The first year we went, we had to pay extra for the photos, but now the package is included. It is also much easier to get a reservation at Akershus, since it took our fifth trip before we could get into Cinderella’s Royal Table for lunch. The princesses have always been very patient, friendly, and accommodating to our own Princess.
Anne Hendrix says
Our first character dining experience was at Akershus seven years ago. We had breakfast, and it was pretty good. The princesses were wonderful. My daughter, nine at the time, loved the fact that her favorite, Mulan, was there. I told Mulan that she was Beth’s favorite princess, and she whispered something to Beth. To this day, Beth won’t tell us what she said (and she’s sixteen now). It made for a memorable experience.
Amber says
My husband also hates the food and I don’t see him ever eating there again. I would do it again since it was great to see all the princesses in one place and my daughter loved it and the dessert plate was really yummy.
Amanda says
My husband and I ate here on our last trip-our babymoon. We loved it. We had lunch and the food was different but pretty good. Dessert was amazing! Our waitress was really cool and we almost enjoyed learning about her country and her culture as much as meeting the princesses. I loved having time eighths princesses. It was my last chance to act like a kid before being a mom. We had Ariel instead of Mulan and all of the princesses were amazing. They were even really sweet to my husband. They called him my handsome prince. We would definitely go back to akershus.

We have always had good experiences here. Have done both breakfast and dinner. Dinner was ok and breakfast was very good. Love that the picture is included with the meal. My girls (5 & 10) love the salad bar with all the fresh fruit and cheeses. Our experiences have been much better here than CRT.

We went in September and had breakfast at Akershus. We loved it, so much so that we are considering it again for our trip in June. Our two children (DD 6 and DS 5) both enjoyed it and actually ate without complaint (A rarity for them.) I was very pleased with the picture package that was included (A 5×7 and 4 4×6) At the other character meals this would cost an additional $30. It was a nice “free” souvenir for our parents. I was also really pleased with the number of princesses that we got to meet. I don’t know that we would do dinner here but we would definitely do breakfast again.

We ate lunch there on our first trip in 2008. Our picture was with Belle also and it was great. The princesses were all very friendly. My 6 year old son was in love with them all (especially Jasmine) and my daughter was in awe. We did have to wait about 30 minutes for our table even though we had reservations. The food was not very good. The kids filled up on cheese and fruit. I don’t remember what I ordered, but I know I didn’t eat it. Overall, I am glad that we went because the kids loved seeing the princesses but we will not go back next time we go.

We took our two girls (8 & 5) there last year for breakfast and we LOVED it! The food was great and we hardly had to wait for our table. My girls were so excited to see the princesses and they were all very sweet. I have recommended this place to my friends but it sounds like I should maybe clarify to them that breakfast might be their best bet.
Love your blog!

We went there for breakfast in 2009 and got the dining plan free. Breakfast is family style w/ eggs, sausages, bacon, & potatoes brought to the table. Then the buffet is filled with yogurt, fruit, pastries, and more. We got there before Epcot was open to the public. We saw Belle, Snow White, Ariel, and Aurora. We had a wonderful dining experience and would be happy to dine there for breakfast again.

We have been there a few time s as well and I have to agree with Autumn. the pork is amazing. My husband had celebrated his bithday there one yar around Christmas time and the princesses made a huge fuss over him! That was very memorable! It’s not my absolute favorite but it’s very nice. :o)

We had this Princess breakfast in 2005. My daughters were 5,5 and 6 months. They brought the food to the table in a large skillet and it tasted delicious. Plus, I took my youngest to the bathroom to nurse and missed two of the princesses. I didnt really care and the baby sure didnt either. But, those two princesses came back to my table just to say hello to me and the baby! I was so impressed. We loved the food and the princesses were so nice and let us take so many pictures. I remember though, we did have to wait like 30 min. to be seated. Although it was expensive, we all loved it. Also, try the Ohana breakfast with Lilo and Stitch. We did that this past April and really loved it too!

We also eat there & once was enough! There are much better character meals than this one for example Cinderella’s Castle in Magic Kingdom is the best for Princesses!

We ate here once for lunch. The food on the buffet was terrible as was most of the food delivered to our table (and we’re not a family of picky eaters). The princesses were wonderful and did not appear to be in a hurry. My daughter was thrilled except for the fact that Ariel wasn’t there that day. However, I still would not recommend going there for lunch.

We ate dinner there 2 years ago and thought it was yucky. We are eating there next month for breakfast and I have heard its much better.

I absolutely love Akershus! It is one of my favorite, if not my favorite character meal. We have eaten lunch and dinner here and loved both. I think the food is fantastic (I always get chicken) and I love the appetizer bar you get before your meal. The character interaction is great. Having a little girl, she is always thrilled to get to see all the Princesses in one place. I highly recommend Akershus. And the picture package you get puts it over the top!

DH and I ate there a few years ago before we had dd. The menu was limited and I don’t think I would go back there just for that, but we did get to the princess including Ariel. That was convenient and the staff was all friendly and our meal was great, I didn’t like what I got but DH loved it. I’m sure when dd is old enough we will go again.

We love this character meal. We had a great experience. The food was great, I ordered the chicken, my husband ordered the pork chops. We love this one because my girls, both age 4, are really into princesses and you get all the princesses here (for 1 table service credit vs. 2 for Cinderella’s Royal Table) plus you get a free photo package!! I definitely recommend. I think the people working when you go make your experience good or bad. If you have bad customer service, ect…….. but you get that just about anywhere you go.

I just had dinner there 2 weeks ago and LOVED it! I wasn’t much for the appetizers, but the pork chop and potato dinner was amazing! Snow White wasn’t in the best of moods, but all of the other princesses were wonderful and my daughter was in awe the whole time. She loves Belle and was so looking forward to meeting her in her beautiful gown, but then Cinderella, Ariel and Aurora were so sweet to her she couldn’t decide who was her favorite! My nieces went to this one back in January and they also loved it.

Oh no! We are going in May! This is our first trip to Disney and a friend told me they love Akershus. I am going to hope for the best.

We just recently got back from my families first visit!! I have been to Disney three times but it was the first for my 2 DD’s and DH. We dined here for breakfast and it was wonderful! The food you had to get up to get was kinda unfamiliar to us, but the food that they bring to your table was great! We had a wonderful experience here and my oldest DD was able to meet her favorite princess Ariel. We would for sure do breakfast there again. We didn’t even wait 10 minutes for our table either :)

We went there quite a few years ago, 2005 maybe? We had a wonderful experience there! I found the princesses to be way more pleasant and fun than they’ve ever been at the castle for either breakfast or dinner there. We did the breakfast one and the food was just passable but the princess experience was a lot of fun.

We have eaten here twice. Once for breakfast and once for dinner. Both time we had great character experiences. Breakfast was very good. Dinner however was not. We will do it again but will stick to breakfast.

We have done breakfast and dinner here. I would not do either of this if I was not on the dining plan! It is so not worth it unless you have free dining. Of the two meals, breakfast was much better! My kids still love it though and my girls are 13 and 11 and my son is 7 – so that says something! They love seeing the princesses no matter how old they get. So…as much as I would love to never have to go hear again…it looks like it may be unavoidable. My 13 year old told me just this week that she loved going here and hoped we would go again the next time we go to Disney!

We ate lunch there on our trip in March. My daughters loved seeing the princesses and it was a much more realistic option for us (than CRT). I was pleased with the food, although the kids servings were a little small for us. We had no problems with service, only waited a few minutes (not much longer than anywhere else really) and the princesses were very sweet. We’d go back.

I would love this. Bet I can’t talk my 18 yo son into doing this. Maybe I’ll just take my 24 yo daughter instead. She loves Belle and I love Cinderella

I haven’t been here either but we just made a reservation for our trip this fall. I wanted to do a princess meal and didn’t feel that Cinderella’s Royal Table warranted 2 table service credits on the dining plan since our kids are still pretty young. Also my daughter’s favorites are Belle and Ariel and I read that both are regulars here. I chose breakfast because it looked like a traditional breakfast menu, unlike the other meals. Never even thought about getting into World Showcase early – that is a very cool perk though!

Kristen, Which meal did your family eat there?
Kristin from Couponing to Disney says
I know I had Meatloaf. I can’t remember what hubby had. Our reservation was at 2:30. :)

We eat here every year, but have always done lunch. We do it because it’s a great way to see and spend time with the Princesses. However we’re a family of picky eaters so the food is really not our style. This year we’re doing a breakfast. I’m excited to get in to World Showcase early and I’m glad there will be food I will actually enjoy.
