Disney’s All Star Resorts are broken into three distinctive themes-movies, music, and sports. These three value tiered resorts are great for families looking for a very, very budget minded trip, as well as many sports teams and groups visiting the Walt Disney World Resort. Just like all the Disney resorts, there are pros and cons to each tier and specific resort. While you may be looking at the All Stars for their inexpensive nightly rate, you may find yourself with questions about the resorts themselves. Today, I am going to share some information about these resorts with you!
What is my transportation option at the All Star Resorts? Disney’s All Star resorts rely on Disney motorcoach transportation to get you from one end of Disney to the other. While the motor coaches are great, and run well, there is a slight drawback. Disney’s three All Star Resorts share buses amongst the three of them. So that means, if a Magic Kingdom bus leaving All Star Sports passes you by at Music or Movies, it is probably full and you’ll have to wait for the next one. This is something to keep in mind when staying at these, as that increases wait times and means less time you have in the parks.
How many guests can sleep in a room at the All Stars? The All Star Resorts are made for families of 4, plus one under the age of 3. They are equipped with two double beds and a small refrigerator, coffeemaker, etc. The All Star Music Resort does house families of 6 in their Family Suites. Those have a small kitchenette.
What would my family enjoy about the All Star Resorts? The theming at these is great. If you have small children, or movie fans, I highly suggest All Star Movies. The theming is 101 Dalmatians, Fantasia, Toy Story, as well as several other movies. It’s fun to stay here for young children! Both All Star Music and Sports have great theming as well, and all those resorts offer rooms in the Preferred Category. This is great, as they are very spread out and a preferred room is wonderful after a long day in the parks. If you enjoy big, bright, “in your face” theming, then the All Stars are for you!
What are the drawbacks to the All Star Resorts? As I mentioned before, the sharing of Disney motor coaches can be a drawback. Also, the rooms are smaller space wise, as compared to a moderate. So, if you are traveling with a child who requires a stroller and/or pack and play, you may want to consider the moderates since the rooms are a tad larger.
What area of Disney property are the All Stars located? Disney’s All Star Resorts are in the Animal Kingdom area of Walt Disney World.
Will you be taking up residence at an All Star resort on your next Walt Disney World vacation? If so, my personal recommendation is Disney’s All Star Movies. I just love the movie theming, particularly in the preferred rooms with Toy Story!
